"Ahh-zhoo" Au jus is a French term that means "with juice." It refers to meat dishes prepared or served with a light broth or gravy made from the meat's natural juices. Au jus is commonly paired with prime rib or French dip sandwiches

Same bacon I use, we love that brand. Try cooking it in the microwave, I put 6 slices on a bacon tray - cover with a paper towel and cook in microwave for 6 minutes… check it - if not crispy enough try and an adtl minute…. Drain the bacon grease right in your tin or jar. Also try using your hand mixer to shred your chicken.

I love "easy" crockpot meals and just dinners. I come home after work and really strive to be finished cooking within a half hour. I get home at 6:00pm so the easier the meal the better. I can prep some on weekends to make things go a bit faster like chop onion, carrots or celery ahead and have ready for dump and go or cooking in 1 pan.

Just saw the first recipe. Gentle suggestion: Try the “Dr. Ken Berry bacon chips.” Not the official name but … it lets you know what to look for. Basically: Without separating any of the slices, cut a package of bacon into quarters (cut in half and then cut the halves into halves), or whatever works for you. Then cook the bacon in a pot on the stove. The pieces eventually fry in the bacon’s own fat. *NOTE* - (1) Dr. Berry cooks his on high. My stove and pot require medium to low temp. (2) I can easily eat a whole pound of bacon this way. Still, I get pieces of bacon without the grease splatter. Okay, onto the other recipes.
@lovesJesus44810 ай бұрын
You know that you could do that in a crockpot on high and put on the lid then you would not have to babysit it...just check every 20 min or so ...easy peasy❤praise the Lord Jesus ❤

Love this tip! I find that in a frying pan I have to start medium heat then on high for the last 5min to crispen.
@helensarkisian74917 ай бұрын
My recent batch: Still in the pot, but I started with about 1” / 3 cm of olive oil and some bacon fat from a previous batch, bring to gentle frying temp and cook about - darn memory - 14(?) minutes. Pay close attention towards the end or properly cooked turns to overcooked.

Try putting your bacon in a large glass or ceramic baking dish and bake at 350°. For reg cut about 45 minutes does it crispy. For thick cut you'll need to flip it about 40 in and then give it 10-15 more. No need to stand over the bacon on the stove. Also keeps it from tasting too salty if your heat is too high

Yummy! I'm suprised that you don't up the more fat content I always drizzle+ EVOO to get a cleaner ketosis. The Au jus has corn syrup, definately an insulin trigger for me. It would be fabulous if to added the macro counts to your great recipes.

Totally agree with myo. Even the au jus. I would rather go with bullion than add corn syrup to my meal and trigger Insulin. I also use pink himilayan salt because I like the taste better and it's a better electrolyte that morton's. She may be using Real Salt. However, I say this as an empty nester. As a mom of a family of 6 these recipes are phenonimial!

Our bodies all have their own "keto" threshhold. For me I would tweek the recipes for my needs and up the fat percent especially on TMAD (two meals a day). Early Keto cooks used to calculate the macros and add that in their videos. That would really be the only way to know the macros. She seems pretty healthy and at a good weight. For me, I have Insulin Resistance and need a cleaner keto menu to rest my metabolism to heal. I would say the same with the rest of the metabolic disorders. It can be expensive to clean keto, especially for a family of 6. I have tried Arnold's keto bread - about 5carbs per sandwich. It's tastes fine to me but the price is high. Keto baking ingredients at also an arm and a leg. We just have to find our best menu. Again, calculate out the macros! So many people are "keto" : clean, dirty and even some that will go nonketo for the weekend. Plus she only divides her carb load in two meals per day, that allows more per meal.
@mcconn7467 ай бұрын
@@nanizon You obviously know a lot more about this than I do. What do you think of this product...www.bariatricadvantage.com/item/meal_replacement. According to my Drs. weight loss clinic, it contains all the macro and micro nutrients we need. I do have a problem with constipation but I am taking fiber and a medicine to keep it under reasonable control. They recommend 3 - 4 "meals" per day and they monitor my kidney's function with the high protein. I actually add protein in the form of meat, cheese or eggs. I lost 30# in 3 months...most in the first 6 weeks. This is not considered a normal diet but a crash diet for a few months and then go back to normal food...preferably lower carb. LOL Any thoughts? Thanks.
