Rather than keep setting the position and rotation, couldn’t you just set constraints on the rigid body for rotation and movement?

What do you mean? For simple use, you could basically use how this script is set up and just have the collider be what enables it instead of the mouse hit

There must be another way besides setting RB position and rotation repeatedly under fixed update, doesn't seem performant, maybe swap out with model that doesn't have RB, or just inactivate RB on all children GOs?

One possible solution might be to set all zombie rigidbodies to kinematic mode after some short time period (once the movements after spikes impact settle down). It would be maximally a few seconds. After this period the manual control of the spiked rigidbody in FixedUpdate woudn't be necessary anymore.

Hi, I see what you're saying regarding performance. The problem is that you want the non impaled limbs to still move so you can't just swap out the whole model for one with no RBs on impact. We've tried several options including setting the constraints on the rigidbody but you still get the random spinning effect.

Makes sense, player might still try to hit the zombie and expect the limbs and the rest of non impaled body would react to the impact(s). I don't see any better solution. Thanks for the reply.

Yet another Unity tutorial,....... lasting all of 9 minutes. LOL, it takes literally 100's of hours to fully understand C# and its full potential. Every swinging dick out there is becoming a Game Dev, thinking they can master the language, creative skills, lighting, shaders, animation, modelling & skinning and a myriad of other infinite issues that befall the ignorant and unwary. Go and have a quick peep at sidequest, then reappraise your thoughts and realise that someone, somewhere has already had that idea and perhaps made a way better job out of it than you and made literally nothing out of it. LOL. And for those I see that are struggling to get Vis Stu as an editor. Then there is, really, no hope. This dude is powered by Patreon. So, the words 'vested' & 'interest' spring to mind.
