Thanks for pushing me over the edge to buy KD. It really is a premium experience, and perfect for players like me that always feel a twinge of guilt dumping in credits when the going gets tough. If I was ever gonna get good at Ketsui. this format is what it would take.

The input lag on this version was tested by noodalls to be 24.9ms. So 1 and a half frames. Same as arcade PCB

Great review but there is so much more to this port, you don't realise how good it is until you own it.. I imagine the Switch ports are as detailed. M2 are great, they're costing me dough though man, apparently there is a physical Dangun Feveron on the way or here now too!!

The google translate app for phone helps with those menus. You can just point your camera at the screen.

thats me, today, with esp ra de psi ;D the translation quality is pretty funny and what you expect from google translate, but with some patience it does the job. what is really neat is the realtime translation onscreen, editing out the original text and switching through translations even keeping the color sceme and trying to find a fitting font

26:16 I think this is the Bond Develop mode. It's save states of the last 25 times you died. You respawn 5 seconds before dying and have to survive. I thought this was a fantastic feature to practice difficult parts. Does ESP Ra De have this?

I'm new to Cave shmups and once I played Ketsui I immediately understood why these games are considered the best of the genre . Is the slowdown - soft stutter in some parts intentional or is it a weak hardware issue(PS4 pro)? I know it's an old school shmup mechanic but I specifically ask for the PS4 port.

So the slowdown in the port is supposed to be there, as the original arcade hardware suffered from slowdown and the game was balanced around it. Trust me, if the slowdown was removed (which happens in some bad ports) the game would become a nightmare ha.

21:32 I'm wondering if the "load time" is really the game just fastforwarding through the replay as fast as it can. I imagine a replay is literally just a recording of player inputs without save states. So to get to a certain game state it has to play through all the inputs, it cant just arbitrarily jump to a certain point.

Is the Xbox 360- Version 'arcade perfect' like the PS4 release? Or are there differences?

Major differences! The xbox 360 does not run at the correct framerate, it runs too fast. So in certain key situations there is missing slowdown (like stage 3 boss and midboss) so ps4 is vastly better. You can basically throw your 360 disc as a frisby at this point (and I do have the 360 version as well).

I think the dlc mode and soundtrack are pretty cool, but you don't have to buy them right away or anything :-)

Fanta stick? We Tekken now? Aren't the DACs from analogue only compatible with their stuff? That's what i read. Oh btw, you can use the google translate app on your phone, point it at the screen, and it will instantly translate the stuff. It's mostly broken english but it helps.

@@TheElectricUnderground Nice, i have a crummy Josie i throw punches around with. The game is super fun. On the Analogue DAC though, IIRC when you connect the DAC to their consoles, the hdmi port switches to a mode where it sends data only, and the video signal is generated on the DAC itself to prevent the addition of delay. Because of that, the device is only compatible with their hardware.
