This video has done wonders for my lowering technique. The 'corkscrew' technique gives me way more control over the lowering of the bell. No more ripped up hands and much friendlier on the elbows. That being said I will use the 'flipping' technique if I'm doing dead snatches as I find it more natural for that variation of the snatch
