I am finding a much different result for some reason. Have had two K-Elite's over the last 8 years. Each lasted about 4 years with 3 cups a day average use. So this time I got the K-Supreme Plus. I dont find the coffee to taste as good. Had it a week now, tried all different settings. Using the same Hazelnut pods I always use and while with the K-Elite it tasted like hazelnut and a wonderful cup of coffee. The Supreme plus I cant really even taste the hazelnut flavor. Using different brew strengths (never use "strong" on the Elite - didn't need to) on the Supreme Plus, normal setting is a weak cup of coffee, the strong just makes it stronger but the flavor is gone. Taste like a boring cup of gas station coffee. Considering returning it and going for the good old K-Elite again. Hard to know what's going on, but thanks for the video! Would have been happier actually if you had the same problems I have and knew it was not just me. LOL

Does the more recent (2022) K-Supreme Plus or the smart version have an autoheat button?
@wolfeadventures Жыл бұрын
The one thing no one brings up is the heated tank machines -Elite- produce much more pressure into the grounds which helps make a better tasting cup of coffee. The heats as it pumps machines-Supreme- can’t produce much pressure by design. They also are poorer at heating the water to the correct brew temperature. I think keurig went away from the heated tank models for cost savings and the mold issue some were concerned about.

Thank you for the video, is great with good points! It really is all about the flavor, no video I found talks about that. Also, I use the reusable container, not the K-cup, very little about that too. But this video is great cuz it touches points relevant to making coffee, slow brewing is critical for flavor. Also the 5 point needle distributes water within the container better, so that is also a fact to consider! For me there is nothing better than an expresso machine, but want to replace my old Keurig and I am going for the Supreme, just because the points you made.

The K-Supreme Plus puts out 160F coffee on all three temperature settings. It’s cold (130F) before I have a chance to take it to my home office and log into my PC. I thought my 2-day old unit was defective, but it seems I’m not alone. Are all Keurigs like this? Does the Elite (with its 192F) make hotter coffee?
@TopOffMyCoffee4 жыл бұрын
You are not alone, the supreme plus will put out hotter coffee if you run a 4oz cycle of water only into your mug before you brew coffee. Not ideal but if you do this then your mug will get pre-heated and the machine itself will brew at full temp also. Doing like this will get the coffee in your mug to around 175ish instead of 160ish which is in line with the other machines. Remember all coffee makers brew hotter than the coffee measures in the mug. The slow flow of the Supreme Plus will measure a couple degrees lower in your cup than the fast flow of the Elite when set to 192 or the Select or even the Mini but it's actually brewing at about the same temp; the slow flow just allows it to cool ever so slightly when it gets to your mug when compared to the other faster flow units in the Keurig lineup. I also agree that the three temp settings do virtually nothing; wish it wasn't so but that's how I see it too.
@ma36804 жыл бұрын
@@TopOffMyCoffee Thanks. Took your advice and did 8oz of hot water into the mug before brewing. Used 12oz mug which became nice and warm before brewing. I brewed 10oz of coffee (using using a fine grind in a My K-Cup) and the coffee in the mug got up to 170F. That seems to be the ceiling regardless of the temp setting. What’s the hottest temp you ever achieved (in the mug) on the Elite or other Keurigs?

@dlg54854 жыл бұрын
I've had the original Keurig B70 for 10 years and it still works great. The only reason I just replaced it is because I broke my water reservoir and that part is no longer available. I chose the Elite over the Select and Supreme for the larger reservoir, better temp control, and preheat timer... and after 10 years with the B70 and having no issues with the moving pod receiver, I'm just not concern about that mechanism breaking. Overall, I think these 2 machines are close enough in performance that it really just comes down to minor feature preferences.
@barndancer61493 жыл бұрын
"5 point technology" is actually more accurate, as there is only one needle distributing water flow in four directions. If you notice, the four perimeter puncture rods have no water flow from them, but act as angled flow deflectors for the flow coming from the center needle. Of all the reviews of the "Supreme" models by anyone so far, no one has accurately described the newer flow technology.
@mrmarkus46523 жыл бұрын
It doesn’t matter whether they act as flow deflectors or whatever. The 5 needles make a mess. Doesn’t work with pods that are part bag. Had to descale mine multiple times in first month. Btw, the water temperature in the supreme is 165 degrees Fahrenheit while elite is 179. I personally measured it 3 times. It’s not a great coffeemaker in my book. It looks great and the ergonomics is good. But that’s about it.

@mrmarkus46524 жыл бұрын
Elite is much better. I own both. Here’s why: Elite makes hotter coffee, 1 stream system better than 5 stream because if one of the needles gets blocked you have to descale. You will need to descale 5 times more with supreme. Supreme also doesn’t work with pods which are not plastic. Nowadays you get pods that are part bags. Can’t use these with supreme, mine made a mess because of the 5 needles. Supreme brews faster and the water is just not as hot as elite. My supreme is sitting in the basement now. Disappointed with supreme. If you are going for the look go for supreme. If you’re going for taste and temperature go for the elite.

I’ve had my Keurig VUE coffee machine for many years now and I’ve been using it with the K-cup adapter. It allows me to set the brew temperature to 197° and, from what I’ve seen, this is the ONLY Keurig brewer that has this high of a brew temperature. I’ve been brewing Newman’s Own Organic French Roast for years now (solely), and it tastes fantastic. However, I’ve been really interested in the new Keurig K-Supreme Plus for awhile now because I thought the multi stream technology would make for an even better tasting cup of coffee. Well, I decided to buy one the other night because Target had them on sale for only $149, and I’ve not had good results so far. On my VUE, I would set my temperature to 197° and brew a 6oz cup with the strong button and it came out perfectly every time. I’ve tried all of the possible settings for temperature and strength on the K-Supreme Plus and the coffee ALWAYS comes out tasting flat and lifeless. I tested the water temperature of both brewers with my quick read thermometer and the VUE is almost 10° hotter than the K-Supreme Plus. Knowing what I know about coffee, that difference in temperature can definitely make a difference in taste profile. Is there anything you’d recommend to help me brew a better cup with this K-Supreme Plus? If not, do you know of any single serve brewers that brew at around 200°? Thanks!

Technically, espresso isn't just a more condensed cup of coffee but rather the way you extract the coffee. It's usually done with a pressure system, and at a pretty high level, too, that the Keurig cannot achieve, let alone begin to achieve. The 4oz, in my opinion, is probably for lattes or stuff that milk is generally the main ingredient in. You can mix 8oz milk/cream with 4oz coffee and it'll be like you're adding an "espresso shot," taste wise. Hope this helps!

Since you have had it for a while now, I wanted to know if you still have the same opinion about the K-Supreme? Namely in reliability? My old K60 bit the dust after years of service last November, so I was looking at what was the latest and greatest from Keurig and saw the K-Supreme Plus. I wanted to get that over the other models (Particularly over the K-Elite) due to the 5-needle design, but I saw tons of reviews about how it's insanely unreliable and many reports of them breaking down within weeks. I recall one person on a Keurig forum mentioning they had theirs replaced under warranty three times within a month and Keurig wasn't even asking for the old ones back anymore, plenty of other such stories breakdown on that forum too as well as reviews about how it broke within weeks on online stores that sell them. So I wanted to know if yours is still working fine since the time of making this video, I still haven't decided on a Supreme or Elite yet mainly because I worry if the Supreme is still unreliable or how widespread the issue is.

You keep talking about the temp settings on the Supreme plus like it's for the temp of the coffee in your cup! It's NOT! It's the temp for BREWING and getting the most flavor from the grounds, not the coffee temp in your cup!
@NativeNYerChicHK2 жыл бұрын
Well, if the water that is being used for brewing is hotter, that translates to making a hotter cup of coffee. I mean, you can’t brew at a lower temp and get hotter than that temp of brewed coffee in the cup. But when you brew at a higher temp, what ends up in your cup will be hotter coffee. So you’re kinda making a distinction without much of a discernible difference. Higher temp water makes a stronger brew AND a hotter cup of coffee.

Awesome video, well done. I too have both the exact same units. I agree with your comparison review and overall prefer the Supreme Plus. For me, I do not need and have never used the timer on the Elite model. Plus, I always preheat my cup with hot tap water before brewing. I also did a temperature test on the Supreme Plus. I found a small increase between all three setting, but not as much as would have expected. I also compared the temperature output for both units with the temp and brew strength settings the same for each unit for each test. The actual water temp in a slightly preheated cup, (no K-cup installed, just plain water) were almost exactly the same when both units were at the relatively same brew and temp settings. My lowest temp was 164 deg. F, and my highest temp was 178 deg. F. I had been using the Elite for about 1.5 years, and just switched to the new Supreme Plus, since receiving it as a recent birthday gift. Over-all for me, I prefer the Supreme Plus. Like you had mentioned, the flavor of the brew is also better with the Supreme. Thanks again for the great review.

I just got an Elite and have been researching what I can about it. I recall yesterday (12/26) seeing a 3rd party in-line filtered hose set up to work like a refrigerator water tap, except the "business end" hooks up to a Keurig, I just don't recall if it was an Elite. This was on Amazon, btw.

I got rid of my Elite for the Supreme SMART. I don’t regret it a bit! The Supreme is waaaay hotter than the hotter than the Elite, so I’m not sure what Markus is talking about. The best part is how the Supreme’s reservoir sits compared to the Elite. Go with the Elite for sure. Keurig is discontinuing the Elite anyways.

Not a very good review. User injects too much subjective bias.
