Keurig coffee always has a weird stale taste to me. I think people like it because people love them flavored coffees. That tends to hide the actual coffee flavor so they don't know the difference. If i make a starbucks pike place in my moms keurig and then make it in my drip brewer its night and day in taste

I actually prefer the simplicity of the entry model here in this video. I'm the type of guy that just wants to press one button and be about on my way. I don't like fiddling with all the settings and this Keurig model is perfect for that. I just press the 8 oz button (that's how strong I like it) and that's it. No fuss. Easy to just refill the water every so often but that's all you gotta do.

Red gasket is for older units for newer units with 5 needles on top you remove it - reading the instructions help although i did not - i watch youtube for my coffee maker that i have

How did you setup the favorites without wifi? My brewer's wifi just died so I can't edit or add favorites without the app which can't connect.

I never buy coffee in K-cups. I bought some plastic reusable K-cups that you fill with your own bagged coffee. You can buy your favorite higher quality coffee and save a lot of money and put less waste in the landfill. You can tamp it down to get more grounds than the amount in a prepackaged K-cup so your coffee will be richer instead of watered down. They last forever-I’ve been using mine for around 12 yrs, and they’re still like new. I think I paid about $6 for a set of 2. The only downside is having to empty the grounds and rinse out the cup, which is trivial when you consider that you’re getting a better-tasting cup of coffee than you can get with pre-filled K-cups.

If you use prepackaged kcups you’re adding tons and tons of unnecessary plastics to the environment, but then that may also be advantageous to these same people since the microplastics leached into their coffee is also slowly turning males into females. Adding more toxic femininity to the world. Lol😂

I connected the tank to a 1/4” water supply line. I’m looking for a new one because sometimes the k cups doesn’t brew unless I beat it on the side lol. Early in its life the de-scale light came on and never turned off, even though i have soaked vinegar inside. I’m researching to see if they did an upgrade on them.

Yes, run out and buy the expensive pods for better tasting coffee, or better yet, don't use a Keurig, use a french press. My Aldi Midnight Roast pods work very well.... thank you very much 😅

Thank you so much! I had grinds & muddy blecch coming up & through my "universal" K-Cup with the red gasket. No matter how hard I push the seals in, they still pop open during brewing. Now I know what the problem is and what to buy for my new machine. Such a helpful video. Thanks again!

I have the K-Supreme unit with the new universal K-Cup and it dribbles every time - even with the red gasket off. It is so sloppy. 😠

If you use your finger and push up on the bottom where the liquid comes out, the K-Cup holder will pop right out. That's how I always remove mine. As for the bottom section of the K-Cup holder, it does come apart, quite easily as a matter of fact. You just need to pull and gently twist at the same time to separate it. Once it is separated, you can then hold the upper section in your hand, and then take a skinny paper clip that has been straightened out or a long safety pin or even a long round toothpick, and stick it through the small plastic tube like structure you will see at the bottom, and jam it straight through so that it comes out of the end where the needle is to remove any potential coffee grounds that may be stuck in there. After you are finished, you can reconnect the upper and lower section, but make sure it reconnects properly. When you push it back together, you will need to gently twist it until you feel it lock in to place.

love to refill my reusable kcup with paper filter and Walmart regular grind coffee and get water from my water filter. Using Kcups and Bottle water are terrible ideas ! Wasteful, overpriced, and filling the land fill

Keurig's My K-Cup Reusable basket is a terrible design (I think they designed it this way intentionally, so people would get frustrated with how inconvenient it is to clean it , and go back to buying the disposable K-Cup coffee pods.)

Then why pay extra? I like the over ice I have the K cup supreme. I got it for around $40 slightly used but the reservoir was still packaged and mine isn’t loose. I do like the feature that it’s easier to fill with the handle on the reservoir and I do keep it on the side because it fits exactly on the pedestal drawer

I use a mix of ready-made K pods and a reusable pod. I have some pods left over from when I purchased my Keurig a few weeks ago, and I need to use them up. And sometimes I'm just really in a hurry. One thing I've found with the store-bought pods is that I get a better cup of coffee if I puncture the bottom first by snapping it in tightly before lowering the top for the upper puncture. And a dark roast nearly always gives me a better brew.

We use reverse osmosis water.So I am not going to clean my keurig every month.That's just ridiculous

my keurig does not have the strong button, but my mr coffee has a brew strength button. i always assumed it just made it run slower, but i've never timed my pots to compare or even tasted the difference between regular and strong, just because i've never used the regular setting to make coffee. regular is fine for tea, because i'll just leave the bags hanging in the pot the whole time anyway. i guess it might come out at a readily drinkable temperature if i'd leave it on regular

Just an FYI that the basket that slides out of the Keurig with the stainless steel carafe is detachable. I watched a lady on another review take it out and put it back in with no problems. I think it has a hinge that kind of works like a drawer.
