Finally got into my Mark V to check some things out and your video helped out a l great deal and I say THANK YOU. someone made some mods to the same area and I'm getting ready to order the right ones to repair it. my attenuater has the same issues. other mods were made on the antenna tuner as well.

I usually test signal strength with a 50uV RF signal on several bands. The S meter should show S9 with 50uV in. If you get within a couple of S units it's no a big deal. If you put a 50uV signal in and the S meter doesn't move you have more work to do. Also try it with preamp on/off. Nice video. Looks like I am getting one in to fix soon. Nice to get a sneak peek.

I think my FT1000MK MKV got a little RF in it. I was running FT-8 (digital mode) at about 5W. The rig wasn't grounded and I think that's what got me. We'll see... 73 NE5U Mike

I have a Mk V that has low receive. The sub receiver hears better than the main receiver. Also when I transmit into a dummy load. I show full output and full SWR. Any ideas where to start looking? The annenuators are working as well. I am good on QRZ. THANKS. CHUCK WD8BXS

I have a Yaesu ft 1000MP Markv that has all kinds of static noise. You can’t hardly hear anyone. I switch my antenna to my Kenwood ts 2000 and hear everything perfect, switch it back to the 1000 and just about nothing but static again. What’s wrong with it?
