What Chuck said in the end is so true and that's as real as it gets. You read comments like "Wilt played with plumbers" or "it was more physical back in the day so these soft babies wouldn't survive." But the reality is, you thrive in the era you're playing, and your greatness should be measured against your contemporaries. That's just how it is. We always hear that 6 rings is better than 4 or 5. But then 11 rings is better than 6 right? That's not how you measure it. You look at Russell, and you compare him to guys like Wilt. You look at MJ and it's Hakeem or Karl Malone. You look at Kobe and it's Duncan. You can't say definitively that a certain guy is the greatest because of accomplished in his time. The important thing is great players leave legacies for the next generations to build upon. It's a continuous cycle.

disagree with Chuck saying the game is "easier".... The game being balanced towards offense makes defense harder, so becoming an elite defender in 2021 is a bigger accomplishment than it was back in the day.... on the flip side, averaging 25 is no longer a big deal..... The players who don't have the scoring talent to capitalize on the advantage are more scrutinized, etc, Russel Westbrook
