The Last Jedi humor was too self aware. The whole joke with the droid ironing the cloths (shooting it like it an establishing shot of a new spaceship) was something that would absolutely show up in a Spaceballs sequel.

I believe that in Disney's Star Wars, the first "Jedi" was also the first "Sith". I am basing that on the iconography shown that the "first Jedi temple". That is one of the few concepts introduced in The Last Jedi that I actually liked.

I believe it was supposed to represent that the "first Jedi" - an individual who was a force user who used both the light side and dark side of the force. That is the "balance" that Anakin was supposed to restore as the "chosen one". It was later generations that chose to follow only the light or dark sides, leading them to call themselves Jedi and Sith.

NO! No more Star Wars spin-off movies about characters we already know. We didn't need a Han Solo movie, and we don't need a Luke Skywalker movie. Stop playing it safe. Give me something new! However, if they were to make a movie that took place within the 30 years between RotJ & TFA and Luke happened to show up in it, I'd be OK with it. Just don't make Luke the main character. I want stuff like The Old Republic with a healthy mix of known and brand new characters. Or just something entirely new and unknown. Oh, and BTW: TESB is most certainly not a "fun" movie. I appreciate it a lot now, but as a kid, I found the movie to be boring as sh*t. I remember only liking the beginning on Hoth and the Luke v Vader-fight. Everything on Dagobah and most of the stuff on Bespin was so boring for a kid in the early to mid 2000s who could compare the old movies to the prequels. They were a lot more kid-friendly, and they were the reason I fell in love with Star Wars. Since I've grown up, I've begun seeing them in a different light, but they're still precious to me for nostalgic reasons.

Feige could do a lot to mend fences with the disillusioned portion of the fanbase by simply stating, "Personally, I kind of hated what they did with The Last Jedi". Of course, he could have loved it and just intends to continue with "business as usual"... If the rumor that he wants Brie Larson for his films proves true, we will have our answer.

I think if they made a film that was designed to "fix" Luke's character by giving him a compelling character bridge between Return of the Jedi and The Last Jedi, Mark H. would be willing to return. If Mark buys off on the story, I think fans would at least be willing to show up in order to support him.

I do think it’s always fun to speculate but I don’t think they’ll ever recast Luke Skywalker. They already tried it with Alden Ehrenreich’s young Solo, and although I did really like the movie, I’m sure the somewhat box office failure sealed the deal. There’s only one live action Luke Skywalker - the great Mark Hamill. I’d love for Lucasfilm to explore Luke’s path after RotJ more but most likely an animated series would be the best way to go - and Hamill of course is the perfect voice actor choice in that case. Personally I hope Feige’s future movie will explore something totally different, not excluding the force, the core of Star Wars.
