I was a River Guide in the North Carolina Mountains for 9 seasons! It’s true! The safety talk reminds you that if you fall out of the boat, you need to be a part of your own rescue! My crew is a family of 6; Mom and Dad, Grandpa and Grandma, and 2 teen age boys. A “Black” Family! More than half thru the trip, I bounce off a boulder, I now have 3 swimmer! Dad, one teenager, and Grandma! Dad and the boy, are staying near the boat, for me to rescue! Grandma is floating down the river with her face down! Knocked out, unconscious??? I start to blow my rescue whistle to alert other boats that there is a “swimmer”! 20-30 seconds go by, another boat reaches Grandma, face down, they grab her, she lifts her head and says, “Praise Jesus”!😂😂😂

I grew up in Idaho. My grandma was adopted and didnt meet her family until she was about 70. Her new found relatives live in canada. So now you're up to date on things, last summer the Canadians came down to idaho and stayed with us at my grandparents' cabin. While they were here we went on a white water trip down a segment of the Peyette river known as the Cabarton. The canadians were literally scared to tears and I was riding the bull jumping into the water having the time if my life. This story reminded me of em.
