There was a very good article about "factory weed" and the "business" in last Sunday's issue of the N.Y. Times magazine. It turns out that the plant is more complicated, and the constituent chemicals and their relationships so complicated, that "tech" solutions don't work. It was reassuring to learn that factory weed is it's own worst enemy and will probably go down the tubes.

Forgot to mention that one reason for the "shotgun graph" is probably related to the differences between the metabolic systems of the individual users.

@A H I like the phrase "grow products" ... it's like using the the term "spread" instead of "butter" when you're selling margarine.

Im from EU waiting for legalisation since 1990s we arę cannabis growing family with my father still in jail a hundred of times I follow the market for qiuet some time now and i would like to take this chance and say that in my opinion the reason the big factories hardly succed in your high quality and demand market is because cannabis is very specific plant with some difficult to explain relationship with a grower and people around like.. you can notice variation in cbd and thc between equator and northern developed in strains because of farmers medical or spiritual needs.. And also I would like to say you guys rock and I pray to thank god for have oportunity to learn from you and feel that there is place on earth where they doesnt shot your relatives and family members over a cannabis plant. Thank you

1:00:00 yeah it is so true about genetic diversity being a problem. You have areas where cannabis developed into land races but now the populations like in Jamaica which are becoming hybridize because the native plant has a long flowering time and that means losing crops to raids and paratroopers slashing and burning plantations.
@montys420-3 жыл бұрын
As some landraces may get bred out im thinking some others will also come into existence, im hoping that once the genome and d.n.a of cannabis has been properly mapped they'll be able to re-generate the landraces and old strains using genetic engineering.
@montys420-3 жыл бұрын
And from watching the strainhunters Jamaican expedition the landrace has only been stable and was the 1 main strain is since the 70's-80's and it wasn't really clear on where that original seeds stock came from that created that landrace was it european/English 70's/80's weed or Mexican?? Cause the Carrabeans roots and travell back then was mostly England/Europe and a lil mexican/U.s I don't think any of them would of had contacts in Africa imo from watching and reading the history of Jamaican weed

Why is it such male dominated business?
@kevinjodrey66393 жыл бұрын
I think mostly from the risk it took to exist in the old markets. Women were easier to target for theft. Women are a huge portion of the industry but kept to the shadows for safety. The effects of legalization should change this.
