As a woman I have watched my team regularly since a child and have really hated seeing women commenting on the men’s game …they are nowhere near as good with the exception of Emma Hayes..the Chelsea women’s manager. The thing is if I am watching a pundit I want to hear from someone who has more experience of the men's game that I do but no woman has played the men's game at any level so even men who have just played parks football have more experience of the men's game than a woman, even if she has 100 caps for England in the Woman's game. Same scenario with male pundits in the women's game, they have no knowledge of it because they haven't played women's football.

Expert commentary should be reserved for those that have played at that level. Expert commentary is not about talking theory it's about sharing your experience of that elite level which no female has. Period. Women's world/champions league cup final = efl league 2 play offs at best. Would a league 2 player ever be asked to be expert commentator on a champions league final? Heck no. My view is this: Men have the Men's game and females have there game, men cannot play with woman and vice versa, whilst the rules are exactly the same the physicality is completely different and so is the level...That's the first part and 100% a FACT....The second part is the pay.... When a woman's team can fill a 50,000 seat stadium at proper ticket prices IE £50/£70 per person then just maybe they can be paid the same as the men's game, the fact is woman play in front of small crowds at a reduced ticket price cost and in some cases tickets are free....Now the third argument which is what Keegan has brought up, do I agree? 100% I do! I watched Newcastle thrash PSG the other night and the atmosphere was electric and amazing and the pundits sat and listened to the crowd prior to the game which made it exciting, now as a Liverpool fan I watched the game last night and my best part before the game is listening to YNWA however, the two female pundits and nob head Owen talked over all of it to the point were I turned the volume right down until they had finished making themselves sound like fucking tactical genius's, I just don't get the same buzz for a game when females talk over it, that's not sexist that's just my opinion from watching football all my life.... And the 4th issue is the SPAIN issue, look what happens when Men cross over into the females game - Its one Match away from a Rape Claim - Conclusion - Females have there game and Men have there game, lets keep it that way I say..

The problem is there is no atmosphere at womens game so its boring. Even if the standard was shit and the atmosphere wasn't sanitised and not "family friendly" I think they'd have a chance. Maybe make the goals shorter as the Goalkeepers are 5ft 9 at a push, so it isn't really fair on them.

Some of the best commentators in the past were not even ex football players, it's not about punditry or experience, it's about passion. I've watched matches with women ex-players commentating and they're as dull as ditch water. One of the big issues here is that women are allowed their women only spaces (if you include trans lol) and men are not!!! Women can have women clubs but god forbid men want to do activities with only men ... we can't be having any of that!!!

Men and women make incredibly different decisions in sporting activities, men take far greater risks than women and the game is 100 times faster. Someone who does not know what is happening in the mind of an athlete cannot comment on how they made that decision. Its nonsense tokenism, the womens game is a different game, in regards of speed, intensity, fitness and actual physical contact, as Souness said, "its a mans game" and it is because its physical, the womens game isnt and far more biased towards the finer points of the game, they are two totally different games.
