Kevin Nash on WHY he doesn't sign at Airports

So if I just so happened to run into Nash at an airport and ask him for an autograph, Am I wrong? Even If I were a fan whose paid a lot of money for a lot of ppvs he's wrestled on?

I’ve always thought autographs were pointless. People only ask for autographs in hopes they’ll make some money off of it someday. If I met a wrestler or any celebrity I’d much rather have a selfie or picture taken with them so it’s more personal, but even then I’d totally understand that I’m not worth their time and just cause I’m a fan doesn’t give me the right to go bother them at an airport lol.

Eh I've gotten autographs I know are completely worthless to anyone but me. I just like the interaction. I wouldn't demand an autograph and the ones I have are from signings or prizes I won, but I appreciate getting an autograph and saving it

I work as a retail worker. One night I got off, forgot to take my name badge off, and a dude from Sonic had came in asking for help. I said and I want a banana milkshake and some onion rings man. I get there's a difference, but I did end up telling the guy where the bread was. I had a customer who knows of me and they literally followed me around the store asking stuff. Even when I had my earbuds in. They told the manager I wouldn't help them. The manager took my side. I also had some customers see me at a mall one day and ask me what new sales we were having at the store. Some people are just entitled I guess.

Aside from all the points mentioned, like Nash said more than likely he is in that airport cause he is going to a signing, same thing for most other non active wrestlers so if you sign stuff for free for everybody at the airport you are completely undermining the people/company that is paying you to sign autographs for them at their convention.

I'll never understand why fans think they're entitled enough to be able to go out of their way to interrupt a celebrities' free time just to blag photos or autographs, especially when they're travelling or just out for a meal or something it's plain fucking rude imo.

I don’t think there’s any harm in asking, but be polite. Don’t do it while they are eating. Certainly don’t follow them into the bathroom like people have done. Don’t bother their workout. But yeah I see nothing wrong with you spot a celebrity out in public and just going “Excuse me, So and So. I’m sorry to bother you but I’m a huge fan. Could I please trouble you for a quick autograph/selfie?” If they say yes, cool. If they say no, cool. Don’t hassle them “C’mon it’s just one photo/autograph, we could have been done by now”. Accept the first answer given.

Ok my thing is if you walk up to someone famous with a piece of paper and ask for a autograph you say no it's a piece of paper not gonna make much money off that and at most of these events don't you have to pay to get in then pay for a picture and autograph but what about the events merchandise and other stuff you buy they make money on. The famous person is always going to be the one getting the better deal out of it.

I personally couldn't go up to someone and ask for something. Imagine catching your idol on a bad day or being ignored. Unless it was an official signing or something, the most i'd probaly do is say hi from a distance.

I'm 32 years old and I could not imagine even pretending to be the kinda guy that stakes out wrestlers to sign merch. I had a poster of this man on my wall when I was 8 and the most I would do is throw up a too sweet hand gesture

I dont blame Kevin one bit here.... funnily enough it reminds me of when I saw a video of some college age kids bothering Ric Flair, when he was doing something on his phone, at a bar/restaurant, and let's just say he didn't take too kindly to it. Same logic applies here

People don’t understand. He makes his living signing his autograph and signing things. He doesn’t make a living as a wrestler anymore because he’s probably retired.

Completely understandable. A kid should get a free autograph but an adult either pays the fee or no autograph on an item other than a blank piece of paper. I've never in my adult life asked someone for an autograph & living in Vegas I've interacted with plenty from Iron Mike Tyson to Marshall Faulk to Gary Payton to Juvenile to Nick Cage to Coach K & an endless list of wrestlers. A simple quiet acknowledgement is all they get from me...then I mark out later when telling everyone who will listen who I ran into

I wouldn’t disrespect a celebrity at an airport to sign something , I get upset if your at a convention and you pay the money to have something sign and ask them to wrote a saying and some say no . Most of the time the celebrity will sign like two sweet !

Its not a question of whats right and whats wrong in these types of scenarios. The wrestler/celeb does not value the fan enough to care about the autograph. They know if they sign or not the industry will keep on truckin and the fans will show up regardless. That's the point. And btw i just farted

It's about $$$. If I were a celebrity, I'd sign whatever. I wouldn't need security. I'd pose, sign, etc. -- but I'd request that my time and space be respected. Treat the celeb like a person. Most of them are soft AF.
