I need to thank the guy that cheated with my exwife and married her. It hurt at first but I got over it. Eighteen months later my exwife tried to sleep with me when I went to see my kid. Her husband was away in the military and I told her hell no. Found out he left her and filled for divorce. What was he thinking marrying a cheater. I am sure he caught her and saw signs of cheating just like I did. Now I am married to a great women, we have a kid, and we are doing well financially.

She swore up and down that she'd never do it again and it was so aweful..i was too in love with this beautiful woman (i liked her accent too) that i ignored the red flags...she indeed did not learn and cheated on my around the time our son turned 1. She hasnt been able to hold down a man since (3 years later). Once a cheater, always a cheater i fully believe now

It all comes down to discipline. If you’re attractive it’s even more difficult because you will be tempted. Having the strength to say “no” to someone who you are attracted to because you are already in a relationship will be difficult but it’s your duty to do so. It’s not just relationships, it’s everything in life. You sacrifice fun for studies and career, you sacrifice tasty food to stay fit, you sacrifice fun to raise children. It’s not super natural people you just have to be strong and learn to not cave to every damn desire that comes your way. If you cheat, you’re weak. It’s strength and discipline, very simple.

Men are primal, and women are fundamental to making a good man. The thing people dont talk about anymore is what makes a good woman. People now believe a man can be one. I disagree with the premise that infidelity is more socially devastating for women than men. My first wife was unfaithful and after our divorce had a string of relationships including at least one more marriage which devolved. She has done very well for herself socially and financially. In fact. There are people in the community to this day who will not speak to me because they are convinced I was the villain. I find my type of story to be very common.
@darbyohara

Correct. Buss is looking at things historically and ignoring the reality today. A cheating woman can easily end up in a better position by monkey branching or moving to skirt the shame. And usually the man is blamed for the divorce. Men pay the real price, often financially devastated.

My ex-wife cheated on me, and I discovered it like 7 months later. Initially I was the "bad guy" for neglecting and abusing her. Well in their eyes, my ex-wife was an angel and so, it couldn't have been her. Maybe I did something wrong? Rumors was going around saying maybe I beat her. Or cheated. Or neglected her. Nope. I was 100% faithful, loyal and looked after her and her family. I never shouted at her and was always open/nice. One day I just had enough and I just told her family and her friend the truth about what happened. Eg. me discovering this and that, and her talking to multiple men. Sleeping with them. Skipping work to be with them. Because I had helped them so much over the years and was always nice and honest to them, they believed me. They couldn't believe their daughter/friend had cheated. Now she is dating some rich businessman, who is also cheating on his wife with her. That was last I heard 2-3 years ago. My ex for the first year of divorce, still kept messaging me and trying to act like friends. Telling me everything. I put a stop to that and said no we can't be friends. I wanted to move on. Not be an emotional wreck every time she messaged me. I loved her and probably still do. But the woman I loved no longer exists. She has now completely changed, visually (brown to blonde hair now, lost weight, wears more revealing clothes now) and mentally different. Maybe she had always wanted to be a ho but couldn't while in a marriage. One thing though, she was a sex addict and would demand it daily. If she couldn't get it daily, she would get pissed off. Maybe this had something to do with it. Not to say that women with high sex drive can be cheaters, but I've also dated a girl in the past with also a similar sex drive. Also ended up cheating. Now I'm kind of wary of girls with high sex drives lol. The girl I'm currently with, has a regular sex drive and does not demand it daily.

From my limited life experience, the male vs. female reasons for infidelity that David describes here is a hundred percent right. One female that I used to know comes to mind because she never ended a relationship, instead of breaking up with a guy she just moved on to someone new, but she made sure it was obvious to old guy that there was a new sheriff in town. I watched her do this a number of times.

@@celinamilian it goes back to simple biology, maybe not in the OPs case but most women are very agreeable, breaking up with someone is ugly, painful, and the dumper has the burden of being portrayed as the bad guy. Most Women would rather cut off a finger than put themselves in that position, plus in the interim of breaking up to getting a new guy, they need a place to stay, as most women can’t or don’t support themselves- so they cheat. It’s like ripping off the band aid (and slapping the man while you do it), but many women can rationalize it enough that it feels easier than just breaking up. Same reason guys will break up over a text- easier. It’s 1000% better than cheating, but to women, there may as well be no difference at all.

It’s honestly the name of the game. Dating is probably the most primal thing about being a human being. I’ve had girls break up with guys to be with me, and I’ve had the same girl leave me for a new guy. They are brutal and it’s at a primal level. It’s almost like they can’t even control it. It has always caused me to remain cautious and pretty much avoid becoming too attached or emotionally invested into any woman.

When men would flirt with me before, I was usually flattered even if I didn’t like them. Now, it’s annoying and it makes me want to be physically violent because I know they see my ring. @Pontif11

Does it really though? A good amount of stuff can be explained sure but evolutionary explanations always feel lacking when not paired with social explanations. At different points In history atractive has meant different things. We've gone from heavier women to the coke adict models amd actresses of the 90s and 2000s, from head to toe coverings to bikinis. Human advancement in society, technology and medicine adds too much to leave explanations to just evolutions.
@GlorifiedGremlin
@GlorifiedGremlin Жыл бұрын
@@Pontif11 Well I think the two are very closely interwoven with one another. Society and sociological interaction evolved alongside our physical evolution. Society was molded BY our instincts and inherent nature that we tend to tamp down today. Our sexual dimorphism alone has had an astronomical impact on sociology and society. Ignoring the absurdity of the last decade or so, our gender roles were what allowed us to divide and conquer, and become so successful. It gave us our power. And it strengthened the selective pressure for bonding and close-knit communities, all of which directly lead to virtually all societal structures ever since
@GlorifiedGremlin
@GlorifiedGremlin Жыл бұрын
@@Pontif11 And while the general idea of beauty on a societal level has changed, I think the ideal woman has been constant for thousands of years. Child bearing hips, a healthy strong frame, a big enough chest to produce adequate milk for children, etc etc. It all leads back to that eventually. Our attraction has utility, just like all of our other emotions and feelings
@Pontif11
@Pontif11 Жыл бұрын
@@GlorifiedGremlin its not a last few decades thing. As soon as people have enough wealth whatever is imformed by evolution loses ground. The evolutionary ideal man or woman hasn't been relevant for royals for hundreds if not thousands of years. The only novelty of the last hundred years is that the wealth that was only in the domain of royalty before has expanded down to even the poor of developed nations. Regardless, what has been atractive historically isn't really relevant to me now in modern times and every thing you described is the ideal woman is far from the rule now. Neither is the evolutionary ideal man. Joe brought up two great examples of men that are considered very atractive to women that aren't close to being the same type of guy, Jason Mamoa and Harry Styles. You can't have both of those guys being comparable with just natural explanations.

People make the mistake of marrying people that are prepared to have sex before actually getting to know each other. Enduring relationships are based on respect and understanding, add sexual chemistry into the mix and you've got a good chance. But getting to know someone AFTER you've begun a sexual relationship, IMO, seldom lasts.

You can have sexual chemistry and know the person and discover he/she is a great one. It is not that rigid of a rule, it is not set and engraved in stone. That's why you don't marry immediately, you share with that person over the years and get to know each other deeply first. It has nothing to do with when does the intimate relationship happen. 🤔

I was surprised when Joe asked his guest, 'so what causes this behavior...', and the guest says 'we don't know..'. My first wife was VERY narcissistic, overly so...and she was an exhibitionist and cheated A LOT (I found out later). I knew her 'background', her family, her school years behavior...and I can answer the question...and after her, found that most LIKE HER have the same issue: Her mother was a 'devoted feminist' to the point, men were 'a lowly life form', and my ex not only aspired to be 'just like mom', but learned from mom that 'she had a currency that all men would pay dearly for'. Well, we all know what happens to women who 'use the purse' to turn everything into a financial, personal-gain transaction...and by the time of our divorce, that was exactly what she had become...narcissism is self-defeating. You WANT to be 'recognized' for your beauty, your ability, your intelligence...but used as currency, you become ugly, nasty, good for only one thing, and ignorant; as a result. Now days, we have social media to make the trip MUCH FASTER, but the end result is still the same. To young men, I advise them to 'date' not marry for a while...and ALWAYS watch for 'bedroom intimacy' to become 'boring', 'a gifting situation' (where it is used as a 'reward' for expected behavior...good dog!), or any opportunity to 'better' you in social circles...you are dealing with a Narcissist, and can expect the single, same outcome, in the end...being thought of as a 'pen-kept swine' for her betterment.

Dude, don't give advice to young men. You failed. You didn't know going into it, you didn't know how to navigate it when you were in it, you didn't know how to exit it without everything falling apart. Blaming her for 'being' a narcissist helps no one. Reducing dating down to 'watch for when she only has sex with you when you've done something she likes' or 'watch out if she cares about you behaviour around others' is not clear advice to young men on how to suss out whether or not she has narcissistic personaility disorder. The fact that you say that shows how little you dug into narcissim outside 'she's evil' paradigm. I'm so sick of you armchair psychologists.

It’s easy to say until you’re in one. Being in a relationship…joining with someone, is to become like family. So, for example, you can ask why is it difficult to just tell your sibling that he/she is toxic and you never want to see them again…even though y’all had some really irreplaceable moments as family. Your question is the first thought any logical person will have, but life’s answers are not always simple or as logical as the questions in life…

But then a couple of years later, I wanted to buy a house and I happened to be living in a community property state. I've had two women ask me to help them cheat in my lifetime. Both were 100% driven by getting more money. One left her ex once she found someone wealthier. The other stayed put with her husband after he decided to sell one of his companies and she knew there was more money coming in. Neither of them were in love with their partners, but stayed for financial reasons and the social security of 'being married'. As far as I'm aware, none of the men involved found out. I suspect a lot more cheating goes on than people realise. Unless someone is demisexual and takes forever to find any viable partners, then it's very easy to cheat.

First off, let me say I'm not denying the importance of fidelity in many key senses. However, unconsciously, people like Rogan, look at things in an overly deontological way. This is a Western Jedeo Christian malaise and is demonstrative of a lack of comprehension of the true higher God and spirit. (yet the West tends to distort things which are deontologically irrevocable, such as your biology). Of course, there is a positive side to the deontological quest, as this guest makes many rational, well researched points. It's merely that it's also necessary to have grey areas and 'the open cup ready to be filled'. Deontological thinking without explanation, nuance or unending new possibility, is also a sign of diminished IQ (think rednecks who can only repeat Bible verses with the epistemology that 'its true because it's true' rationale). In other words, the Western Judaic deontological quest (although I'd suggest the pre Christian Western ancients had a far more advanced thinking methodology) can be to generate an unending stream of rules merely as a way to prop up your sense of self. You are a hero in your own mind, and sometimes other people's minds (those with a diminished IQ) merely if you can say 'I made this rule, and it's a rule because it's cool' and boy oh boy does this allow extremists to come up with some bonkers rules. 'You can't say XYZ about XYZ group and this absolutely, deontologically true' as is one Woke idea, for example, which I would strongly suggest comes from Yahwism, the irony being that so many Yahwist cultures consider themselves to be 'free thinking'. Clue, they are often not as free thinking as they believe. At all. This is also why most of the world see the West as 'preachy' but simultaneously hypocritical. It's because anyone can make a set of rules which sets someone up (for warfare, regime change, cancelling etc) whilst you yourself nonchalantly break a whole array of other what might be arbitrary rules, which another person could easily ad hoc generate, as a form of 'superiority chess'. Now, this may seem a controversial place to say it, on a video about relationships and fidelity, an area where a certain degree of deontology is not bad, but it's nonetheless the case that Yahwism (the unconscious thinking pattern behind much Western thinking including both woke and far right philosophy) cannot handle nuance. What if a couple decides to have an open relationship, for example, and neither feels and remorse or distaste for the situation? Certainly from a Yahwist 'traditional' perspective, this can't be possible (in fact, such a thing would be punishable by stoning when Jawism was at it's barbaric apex). What about Pagan times when people followed far looser conceptions of god, with regards to relationships, which never meant that wedlock nor out of wedlock relationships were a sign of moral impropriety (the opinion most sane people hold today) People will say I am presenting a 'liberal' perspective by saying that not all people want to be in the same style of relationship, or that I am poo pooing traditionalism, but this is idiocy. Not everything is and/or, that's this hypocritical Western deontology for low IQ individuals. I'd imagine that Rogan is aware, for example, that many countries following the strong Judaic deontological quest, believe that pot smokers should be severely punished (time in prison and in certain circumstances, execution). The point is not what is correct/incorrect on this particular topic. Of course, cheating is hurtful if it is two people together who have made a strong bond of commitment. Of course traditional coupling is the very bread and butter of one generation spawning another. This is NOT my key point. My point is more general in observation of the pattern of many 'unravelling the Matrix' Western social media commentators. Rogan, like others, is part of the malaise of Yahwist thinking (unconsciously of course) which is the progenitor philosophy of both woke and extreme right ideology. In Yahwist cultures, saying 'I came up with this new rule' is the peak of showing your status (ironic when the Yahwist cultures tend to have 'belief in discussion' high on their list of ideals) Can an evolutionary biologist help people to stay together and love eachother for all eternity? It might happen, but God (the real God) is God. It is more nuanced and is seeking more understanding than you think than mere rules.

The mate-switching idea is so simple, but so obvious. Women who cheat are the ones who are in some way financially or logistically dependent on the current relationship. Highly educated, independent, and financially stable women don’t seem to cheat. They just leave. I think the lesson here is that as a guy, you cannot and should not rest on your laurels just because you think a girl won’t leave you because she needs you. I honestly empathize with females in that position who are in shitty relationships but do not have the power/independence to leave them in a dignified way. Having said that… there’s plenty of women who “stay” with a guy they don’t want for trivial luxuries and just for the ability to continue living above their means (instead of supporting a kid for example). So, there is a fairly broad spectrum of ethics in infidelity
