Our guest is historian and commentator Kevin Phillips to discuss his new historical narrative titled "1775: A Good Year for Revolution." Phillips suggests that the year 1775 was a critical launching point of both the Revolutionary War and American independence from Britain. He argues that the year 1776 has incorrectly emerged as a watershed year due to historical hype and confusion.

Read his book a few years ago and it was fantastic. He talks about sentiments in Britain. My Irish ancestor came here in 1776 at the age of 21 to enlist, and brought his English maternal grandfather along with him to enlist as well. British opinions of the war were certainly not heterogenous.

Kevin Phillips. An amazing man with an outstanding memory. He is honest, insightful, and a guy who has his eye on sanity in governing and politics that is not only rare today but non-existent. I did not know that Obama had played over 100 rounds of golf while in office. When you talk about Presidents and their legacy Obama has got to be one of the worst in history. He is nothing but dubya the second with better speeches.

As I page through American Dynasty today, and contemplate the actual power that Oligarchy can display, I begin to wonder if the United States is now in a similar position to 1775? The Aristocracy of the Enablers of Media, appear to overlook the similarities of the Founding Fathers to the Greed of modern men of Industry who appear to live off the benefits of Heritage that a Wealthy Family appears to bestow on their Progeny..... As the illusion of Western Prosperity becomes strained to actually provide the currency required by the Citizens, the ability to spend our way out of an economic Dead End, appears to look hopeless? Media seem to ignore the effects of Colonial Exploitation that insured King George a comfy lifestyle. As we begin to notice the Moslem World align themselves with the BRICS Trade Group, as if a reaction to United States support for Israel, the trickle of diminishing GDP producing products, is now tagged with the euphemism of the "Supply Chain". The use of the Covid 19 Plague has assumed some significance as the culprit for all the ills of economic demise, as the reference to the end of Lockdowns is now responsible for all the economic stumbling blocks available to trip economic endeavors? We may even be assuming that the creation of the infections, was an economic effort to distract from an economy already in turmoil? All paranoia aside, as we view the effects of economic erosion on the American Citizens, the Aristocracy of American Elites, appears to assume the Nation is as stable as when the Marshall Plan was able to find Appropriations to support that noble effort to assist Europe. Now American Investors exploit European Consumers with overpriced LNG. The current Banking Families that established the Chase Bank as an economic powerhouse, appear to assume that by simply overcoming some pesky Russian rules about limiting outside investment in their Industry to less than a third of Assets, the thriving nature of the Empire can be restored? This feeling of superiority that comes from an ability to exploit a Colonial Empire, with a military threat, now seems to become as unstable as Britain's hold on the Indian sub continent, in 1853? The ability of Aristocrats to indicate the potential profits the American Public can acquire if only we can buy the Russians out, or just outspend them as the Star Wars efforts of the 1980's appeared to do to the Soviet Union, the World will be restored to an economic Valhalla once again. We seem to have exchanged a Monarchy for an Oligarchy, as former President Carter indicates. Are we ripe for another revolution directed at the Oligarchy, as we were in 1775? Is the appearance of a new building boom of Campers parked on side streets, an indication that the average Joe no longer can afford a home, that is not equipped with wheels as it's foundation? Westward the Wagons?
