Absolutely beautiful foliage this year! We are blessed. Nice job felling Harvey, it was great to see ya out in the woods. My dad logged with a pair of Arctic 046's he bought new from Sissons, he loved those saws. It brings back fond memories when I see another old logger running one. Thanks for sharing.

Ironhorse What a privilege it was to see and watch the saw you did for Buckin. I was at the Bunyan event along with many others over the weekend. That saw sounded and cut fantastic. 🙂

Thanks for explaining the cuts for hardwood falling. I have pines and mixed hardwoods, oak cherry and hickory out here in Oklahoma. It is lots easier to find videos about fir spruce and pine but the larger tops and different wood changes things a bit. Thanks for the info again!

As someone who's been overwhelming trained to fall by different government agencies it's awesome to see how the same tree can be felled in so many different ways to pursue different objectives. And yes I'd say that's a gorgeous stump, a bit shallower of face cut then you'd see with the feds and they like a little more stumpshot but they're not getting paid to produce usable lumber so I don't think that matters in the slightest here

Damn nice looking crew Ironhorse 👍. That's how you get it all done in a short period of time Harv.. Those men all deserve a cold beer after a long day of hard work. By the way, love that crying baby sound of a well built and sharp saw.. Really like seeing the chaps and boots on the men doing most of the cutting. Harvey, you have so much experience that it's not a big deal with the few cuts your making. Have fun y'all.. Cheers from Canada

I'm just starting to get into cutting my own firewood (12 face so far). Been working on the dead ash trees around my place trying to figure it out as I go with a little youtube schooling and my trusty $50 used stihl 290. It looked like you were cutting right in my neighborhood! Then you said you were in Upstate NY and I was like wait... Then at the end of the video I saw the road # and know that area, Maybe not my backyard but pretty darn close to me!
