It's always fascinating to hear over 50-year-olds talking about the reproduction of frequencies above 15 kHz. They seem to have overcome the laws of biological hearing ageing. But perhaps the supertweeter is a hearing aid.

1:28 Wow, many hi-fi enthusiasts do exactly that. Most more expensive FR drivers work that way. Not so good with the cheapest drivers though. A filter is necessary for linear sound on cheap FR drivers, making the speakers even less efficient than they already are (being really cheap).

Talking about adding depth above 15kHz when you cannot even hear that at your age! Great! Passion!

It still makes a difference. You can ‘feel’ it!

I suspect he has an international clientele because the number of U.K. homes with rooms big enough to do his speakers justice must be tiny.

Get a decent 5" FR driver and mount it on top of the box, open. Get a 10" woofer mounted in the box. For the price, the sound can be priceless! 😮 Of course, you need an inductor on the woofer and blend it in best you can for the best sound with the open FR driver. Slope the open FR driver back a bit to stop the beaming of the upper med and treble. Treble extends another "octave" when FR driver is completely open! This is an ADVANTAGE for FR! 🎉 Sounds come from nowhere! 😂 For cranking, put a 100 mf cap on the open FR driver.

60% of the quality in the listening experience is in how a musical appearance is registered/recorded. 30% of the quality in the listening experience is based on how well the listening environment is acoustically treated. The other 10% is down to speaker-design/placement and amplification. That's a narrow band. Looking at that metal horn in the video it certainly makes the "sweet-spot" for listening so narrow , maybe to one seat if you don't move your head. Being a live-sound and recording engineer on mostly classical and jazz music for over 30 years, I suggest you widen the horizon by looking at modern speaker design for recording studios and live music, Lot's has been going on, the past 18 years.
