Awesome job Katee! I so want to see Katee in Moosejaws because I think it would be hilarious! Yes, I would LOVE to see Ming-na Wen and Katee in a buddy cop movie.

I'm still a die hard Kevin Smith fan but I believe Clerks 3 unbelievably fell short on humor because of multiple things and faith is one of them. Him and Scott Mosier made comedies that will still be watched forever. Intellectual and dick in fat jokes will always be yalls bread and butter. I believe all your fans would love a film with every actor from every film and tie together your View Askew universe into one film. #kevinsmith #viewaskew #jayandsilentbob

I've been thinking about this ever since I finished listening to the podcast and now that I've made it home I just have to say that changing the name of the show to The Sackhoff Show was a great move for many reasons but the main one that became incredibly clear in this episode is that the show really is about you. I'm still thinking about the story you told when you were young and decided to try drugs for the first time not because you had some incredible urge to do so but just because you wanted to be social and feel like a more outgoing person in your new environment. The fact that it got shut down immediately by that senior actor is an incredibly good thing but just the way you described the whole situation completely reminded me of when I went off to college and invariably tried a variety of things that I never would have done otherwise just to fit within the new social norms in which I found myself. I just love experiencing that very human feeling of being able to relate to a complete stranger who's lived a very different life from yourself but when you listen to them talk you realize that you've been in situations that while different seemed to have elicited the same emotional reactions.

@eboethrasher4 ай бұрын
@@robertoliver7368no, they want Ala Carte Star Wars. Everybody wants it their own way. Which is impossible. I would love to see everyone who complains have to pitch precisely what they want it to be WITHOUT seeing what anyone else wants to see. Then they can see what everyone else wants and see how little of a commonality there is between what they wanted. So they only know they don't want what they see but they don't want the same thing.

I completely understand about losing your religion. I was raised as a southern baptist evangelical christian but I haven't had the faith for over twenty-five years at this point. I think that it started when I was three years old and I overheard my mom and my grandmother arguing about something (I didn't find out what they were arguing about until I was an adult). A few days after the argument I asked my grandmother about it. She responded by burning my hand on a coffee maker. "Spare the rod spoils the child" and "don't question god" were her favorite things to say. BTW, the thing that they were arguing about? My grandmother gave Pat Robertson my Grandfather's life insurance policy ($100,000 in 1982). So yeah, between that and my father's religious beliefs that's why I don't have faith anymore.

Filmmaker and great speaker aside, he has always been in the end very impressionable. he admired Seth Rogan and when Seth got him to try weed he did and that was the start of his film career getting beyond bad . and.... he looked up to Carlin with such passion that just being around his orbit sucked the faith out of him. losing his religion to me is basically him just being impressionable by people he admires and wanting to sort of exist in their wake. when I think of all the almost supernatural hate for Jewish people on earth thru the eons, and by extension Christians.... I know that the Judeo/Christian God exists. theres no explanation for it save for the truth of that.

What is your appreciation for fans that come dressed as you, in full costume (any of your shows). Also did you appreciate Captain Bombardier at NYC Comic Con 2023? I figured you interacted with him on set so I thought you would appreciate it. I know it was during the strike and we couldn't talk Mandalorian much. Was great meeting you that day. Funny info, I was working at the local NJ TV station when Kevin Smith showed up to a protest his DOGMA film, he joined the protesters and the reporter didn't know who he was. Was some funny stuff. Katee, As a hospital chaplain, I heard your questions about how God can allow children to get illnesses. It is a legitimate question, something I talk to kids and families about while they are at the hospital. If you ever find yourselves in the hospital again and you are struggling with that question or any question about your own spirituality, know that the chaplains are there to support you. We don't come in with any agenda to convert, just to help kids and families make meaning and integrating what brought them to the hospital. Peace to you.

Re. audio only: video helps me focus, and expressions help me understand. If I do anything else while the audio is playing I focus on that, and no longer "hear" the audio. In fact, if it's only audio, my attention will drift to something else, and I'll miss swathes of conversation. Music works in the background, but conversation doesn't. So no audiobooks, podcasts, or talk radio while doing anything else, especially driving, because it's focus on the talk or the activity, and since driving is way more dangerous than listening talk is right out since I can't afford to be distracted from the driving. Or the dishwashing, although that isn't as life-threatening as distracted driving. :) It just comes down to people are different, and we perceive and experience things differently. Audio works for plenty of people, other people need video.
