Thank you Reel Blend for supporting Kevin Smith's work. I think Tusk is one of the most unique (albeit, fucked up) movies. Kevin is very underrated as a storyteller. Even when he revisits his earlier work, (Reboot and Clerks III) he does it in a way that shows how much he's grown as a writer and director. Dick and fart jokes, yes, but both of those movies have a lot of heart too. Red State is a movie that deserves way more attention too. Unfortunately, too many people write Kevin off as just 'the Clerks guy' and don't give his other stuff a chance. I'll see anything he makes. I can honestly say I've enjoyed all of his movies. Yes, even Yoga Hosers.

I made a joke at the box office about it being a "Fathom event". I never fathomed paying $13.00 for a Clerks movie. But it was a event and worth the spend. I have never seen a perfect movie and don't expect to ever see one. This was a complete movie in many ways and was more than I expected. As always Silent Bob got the best dialog... :) Kevin takes care of Bob.

Smith's monologs are better than anything he's made in at least 10 years. His audience is an echo chamber. Randal, Dante, Jay and Silent Bob doing their slacker shtick in their 50s is just sad now. Like Dane Cook...
