Jason is shown to be extremely intelligent and high-functioning, while possessing some tactical sense and strategic planning despite his hydrocephalic deformities. He lays traps for his victims as seen in Part 2, can be seen restraining victims to avoid detection, and he carefully arranges the bodies of his victims, occasionally using them as blockades or projectiles. His sense of direction is perfect, as he is always able his way wherever he wants to go, usually back to Crystal Lake even from long distances. He can escape all manner of bonds. Let me ask you, if you met his character on the street, and he was speaking just as he had in the film, would you really question whether he was a native? Kevin Smith is so down to earth he is both literally and genuinely the kind of guy you'd want to have a beer with...the great thing about him is he's so generous that all these interviews etc that he does, you don't even have to wonder about what an enjoyable night that would be or what a cool friend he would be, because he just willingly opens up in that way, like every fan kind of hopes their film heroes might do. He's so humble and reflective it's kind of mind blowing that he's had so much success in such a business - no matter what jokes he might crack, good naturedly, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are huge stars, have been in multiple of his films, not to mention cameos from superstars like Johnny Depp and George Carlin who clearly appreciate what a rarity such a thoroughly decent human being in such an ugly world as Hollywood etc, which speaks volumes about both them and Kevin himself. You 100% don't have to like his work, I'll give any Kevin Smith project a chance, can't think of anyone who has earned it more....I love his perspective on things anyway, no matter what nightmares a production might encounter (and there's no-one better for insights into just how much can, does or will go wrong, for us laypeople) or how things might turn out, I love his concepts: loved the idea of Tusk, loved the whole setup of Red State, loved the whole idea behind ..Chris Rock, forgot him too! And that great story about ad-libbing with the script. Man, I love Kevin Smith. Fucking great guy. Funny, warm, genuine, treats us like we're worthy of this level of honesty as an audience, which is basically a field he occupies on his own (name anyone in film, tv, entertainment at least of the old school variety who even comes CLOSE to this sincere, truthful and insightful), probably even to his own detriment...he's a fucking legend!
