Just came back here to say may Kevin Toney RIP! He passed away on March 18, 2024 due to a battle with cancer. I'm forever grateful for him composing the song "Kings," which I remember hearing on KTWV-FM 94.7 The WAVE!

Been listening to smooth jazz since the mid-1970s and still do. It elevates the good days and gets me through the hard ones. Some jazz purists look down their nose at this genre. That's their problem. Smooth jazz for life.

Same here! I first heard this amazing classic jazz song on KTWV FM 94.7 The WAVE back when I was in high school (Downey High School) from 2008-2012. Even though I still listen to the radio station to this very day, I just wish they bring back it's smooth jazz format they used to have back then, that way they'll play what they used to play back then. All of this is so much fond and memorable nostalgia memories that a time machine seriously needs to be invented. 🎷🎶🎵🎼🎧📻🤘🤟😌😊🤗😄😎👍🤙☯️❤️💛💯

@@jameswinston5512 Wow! That explains why I love Kevin Toney's music so much! Lol! Donald Byrd+The Blackbyrds have always and will always be my very favorite jazz band. For years the people here in Michigan hoped they would tour. I can't speak for other states, but I know tickets here after Covid would be a complete sale-out and in demand for more shows. Kids today would show up because They Blackbyrd's music is known to kids thru the video games they play. I've heard these younger kids say they play just to hear the Blackbyrd's music.
