Any good teams could have defended those mistakes but you cant defend against momentum esp with Penrith having it all there way in the last 20min. Cleary was the main reason broncos lost. He was in all of the tries they got back and all of the crucial points like him catching it out on full and him kicking the 40.20. Just one of those things where u try your best but the other guy opposite you is just better

Broncos completely capitulated in the last 15-20mins. They’re mostly a young team besides Reyno and the class and experience of Penrith showed in the end. Great work Kevvie and team. I’m no broncos supporter (or even a Penrith supporter) but props to both teams for putting on a great show.

4 times there should have been penalties to Brisbane over Reece Walsh in crucial stages. You can see all 4 in the You Tube highlights that will show on 2 of those occasions Brisbane were forced into line drop outs when Walsh was forced over his own goal line on Penrith second effort late tackles when Walsh had been fully tackled in the field of play and then illegally forced over his goal line n late tackles. Those line drop outs cost Brisbane 2+6= 8 points immediately thereafter each line drop out. Penrith got away with it against Souths in 2021 when they would pick up Taaffe from Cleary bombs and carry him over the goal line when he had hit the ground and had come to a complete stop. Souths also lost by 2 points. Brisbane were the better side in 2023 and Souths were the better side in 2021 that had to play without Latrell Mitchell who was ridiculously suspended for the rest of the season for what is now a standard penalty and a sin bin. This idea that Penrith are the greatest side of the 21st century is complete nonsense and Channel 9 need a new commentary team that is not a Penrith cheer squad.

Couldn’t ask for more out of a game. The brilliance of broncos was on display and then the pure class of Cleary and the panthers overcame the biggest deficit on the biggest stage against one of the most electric teams of all time, for a threepeat. Historic night for rugby league in so many ways.

I never thought i'd ever say this but billy walters should have played the full 80mins. Smoothy was a liability. Was caught out of position continously. Especially at play the balls... Reynolds probably had his worst game-management game in Broncos uniform. Walsh is a defensive turnstyle at times...

Instead of the Broncos closing down the game when at 24 to 8, the Panthers were gifted all the possession needed to come back and win. Those short drop outs were an invitation for disaster (especially after the first that led to the first try) along with that fateful drop kick out on the full. All credit though to the Panthers for making the most of the opportunities provided for that great comeback..

The short drop out donated Points and Field Position to the Panthers and yet they insisted on the tactic, at best it''s a a 50/50 play and I can't believe that the Coaching Staff didn't get a message out to cease and desist. I know Ezra scored three but Jesse Arthurs and Herbie got us moving in that 1st Half. I hate to say it, but I think we lost a bit having Selwyn on when Oates would have been a better option, I just think Selwyn has lost something. What a Great Game though, we witnessed something special from the two best teams all year.

In any sport you need to be perfect for the whole duration of the game, the Bronx wont perfect for the whole duration and it felt like they were in cruise control which gave penrith an opportunity to take control of the game, and boy they did. The last 15-20 minutes penrith played a perfect game from every aspect. In theory it sounds simple but to put it into action is the hard part. I believe this penrith team will have the ability to win the next 2-3 grand finals.

In clutch games, champions rise to the occasion, and Cleary certainly demonstrated that in this game. The Panthers have a ton of experience, which helps them steady the ship when needed, and they are led by a capable captain. Experienced players like them know how to handle such crucial situations. Ezra is an amazing talent.

I think the hardest part for the Broncos is that they really only fired for 20min and put on 24 points. Entire first half, close to 10 self inflicted errors, a gimme try, and gave away two points. They clearly have the talent. A more experienced side probably wins that game by 30. That's probably what hurts the most.

I don’t follow rugby league but I usually watch the GF I honestly thought that Penrith was gone with a score of 24-8, now one question, why did Reynolds keep kicking like he was short kicks for a drop ball, or whatever you call it, the first try he gave it to the opposition easy try then 2 more kicks like that went over the line and he kept doing it, he forgot than Nathan was playing on the other side and it made a big difference.

Love Reyno , but he got his ring at the best club in the comp, even when Penrith beat Souths in the GF, he didnt look at cut, but i think he realised he is 33 and this was probably hos last chance to get another ring. My Rabbitohs should still hang their heads on shame by not signing him for that 1 extra year he wanted. So Penrith have broken his heart twice in 3 yrs, he will always be a Rabbitoh but to lose a GF leading 24-8 with 22 mins to go is a massive choke, i would have broken the tv, the phone 📱 etc if i was a Bronco's fan last night.
