I grew up with the NES, SNES, and N64 but went over to Playstation consoles up until the Switch was released. I've enjoyed my Switch so much that when I saw the Hylian Shield 2DS XL I decided there was a whole library of games that I'd missed out on. This will be my first all-digital console that I can just pocket and take around. So far I've loved it. The Switch is just a bit too large to carry everywhere but my 2DS XL let's me get that Nintendo fix wherever I'm at and 32G holds a huge library of 3DS games.

My brother in law just picked up this 2DS and I am seriously jealous. It is a seriously gorgeous system and easily one of the best looking handhelds I've ever seen. I've got the N3DS Monster Hunter 4 edition(no regrets!) and even I am considering getting one. It's just that awesome. Zelda fans can't go wrong with this one!

If you pay close attention to this, it is modeled after the Skyward Sword version. Look at the way the trims raps around the Triforce. Twilight Princess and OOT have different wraps and no cloister shell at the upper tip of the shield. The cloister design is found on the right and left the side of the ds.

I really love this one. This is my 5th zelda 3ds and I am so happy its not another gold one and feels way more thought out than the zelda 2ds. Also I dig the brown buttons to me it came off as a leather strap and that they don't blend in to the case. System transferred from my hylian gold (triforce heroes system) to this one

Among all the special editions (pokeball, pikachu, animal crossing, mincraft etc.), this is by far the most appealing one to me. I'm not even a Zelda fan or have ever owned a 2ds/3ds before. The saddest part is, it's not coming to Europe, at least for the time being.

I just got it a few hours ago and I love it. My previous new 3Ds was starting to get a bit glitchy so this is awesome. Love the shield design and with the 30 minutes I’ve played of link between worlds it is worth it if you have played link to the past or even just want another Zelda game to play

I don't think the DS will ever die or at least die anytime soon. I think its funny that everyone expect the production of the ds to stop when in reality it still brings in a lot of money. The switch is good and its still a first gen system, I think the ds compliments the switch very well. It provides a smaller and more portable hand held console and on top of that it gives consumers a taste of the nintendo world with the vast selection of games to play from on the cheaper end of the scale. Plus then one can commit more when they have had a taste and want more by getting the switch, so it really all depends on budget and who is going to be using the product. Personally I would get the 2ds xl or a ds in general, then get a switch once the second gen is released and more games have been released.

I'd been wanting to get a 2DS XL for awhile, but always felt like I could get one cheaper when they come down in price or find one on the Used Market (like eBay), THEN I saw this on GameStops Website on Sunday and saw it was releasing on Monday. I went in on Monday, but didn't see it anywhere, nor did I see any promotional material for it or any advertisement anywhere in the store. The workers were all in the back, so I just left. When I got home from work, I went back to the website and they still had it available for pick up at the location I was just at. So I scheduled it for pick up and went in Yesterday and got it. They still had absolutely NO promotional material anywhere in the store for it and the guy just had it in a drawer, out of view of the customers. Almost like they don't WANT people to know it exists. People on eBay are trying to sell these for over $200, calling it "rare", despite it being readily available on GameStops website for $159.99(+tax). And it has actually SOLD for those prices! I'm not sure if I'm missing something or if people are just stupid.

I wish the Buttons on the inside and the d-pad were a little mettalic. I think the flat gray looks good on the joy stick but not the buttons. Or i wish the 2 screens had a really thin shiny trim.
