Thank you for posting this (I know I'm a bit late to the party). A friend of mine is allergic to alcohol - and she can't have ANYTHING with it in. I'm hoping that she with these recipes, she might be able to experience some of the flavors. Wish me luck as I try to make some!

Thanks for the video, Kevin! I've ordered the ingredients and will be trying it out next week. If I also want to make an alcoholic version alongside it, could I use the same procedure but use vodka instead of water? Or would you recommend another approach (e.g. replacing a part by 96% alcohol)?

Hey Kevin. Thanks for this! Unrelated question. I’m getting back into the clarified mojito recipe and was curious if it’s possible able to make that lime mint cordial by starting with lime super juice and eliminating a bunch of the steps for the cordial. Wasn’t sure how to calculate the volume Any way to make it even easier??? 😊

Sorry for the following wall of text :) : What would be interesting to me is an approach that is not 0 ABV, but _lower_ ABV. Ie: I wonder if it is possible to make something with a closer taste to gin (or any other alcoholic beverage) at substantially reduced ABV. Could flavor extraction be better at 10% ABV for "gin." Combined with 0 ABV "Campari" and sweet vermouth, you'd then have a

I'd also be interested in creating flavorings / tinctures using alcohol as a solvent. With as little flavoring as you would use for a drink, they're effectively zero ABV as far as the government is concerned, but they can carry so much more flavor than water or even glycerine.

@@djestouff The link in the description says it's to a NON alcoholic G&T. I don't mind the booze, I was talking about intermediate values between 0% ABV and the ~20-30% ABV of most cocktails (after dilution).

@@djestouff 0.5% is effectively zero. My personal thought is NOT close to 0 as the goal, but the min ABV required to taste like a real cocktail made with the real spirits/etc. I have no arbitrary ABV in mind. A Negroni is ~25% ABV. I am not looking for a 0.5% Negroni, my point was that a

Zero rum is essentially just sugar syrup. If you don't already know how you'd use that in other, non-alcoholic drinks after watching even a handful of these videos, you're probably beyond being helped anyway...
@mdbbox56608 ай бұрын
@@andrewsparkes6275 To say that zero rum is essentially sugar syrup is like saying nonalcoholic beer is just wort, and neither is the case.
@andrewsparkes62758 ай бұрын
@@mdbbox5660 I was half-joking there, but it turns out you lot actually DO need everything said explicitly to you out-loud, huh? The point is if you know what normal rum goes well with, and you know the tastes that normal sugar syrup enhances, zero rum would work well with normal rum pairings that err towards the sweeter sugar syrup side. And if you watch this channel, you should know those pairings well already. Or would you like those spelt out explicitly too because you can't work out basic things on your own?
@mdbbox56608 ай бұрын
@@andrewsparkes6275 Sounded like the request was for a video showing how to make a zero proof rum, not how to make a cocktail with zero proof rum. Since you say the idea of making zero proof rum, you must be able to explain that in a couple sentences. Sounds like a better way to respond than just spouting off "I know more than you people do" snark.
@andrewsparkes62758 ай бұрын
@@mdbbox5660 Oh then that can be done even easier in one sentence of two words: Google it. If you're on KZbin, you're already using the internet. I swear to god, you lot really DO need to have your hand held through every, single, little thing, huh?
