Hi, Kevin! What a lovely summer supper!! You might want to purchase a garden collander so you can rinse most of the dirt off your veggies before you bring them in your house. It also minimizes the amount of dirt you're putting down your drain, and if you do your rinsing over a garden bed, you're keeping that good soil in your garden.

Good call. My brother is a plumber and he says you should put ONLY liquids down your drain. That means stop using your garbage disposal too. This is especially true of older houses.

Who would have thought to make pesto out of carrot tops! I am certainly going to make this. Thank you for this lovely recipe. You got a good bounty of carrots. Here in the Ottawa Valley in Ontario, Canada we received a lot of rain and smoke from the forest fires and our vegetable gardens are not as bountiful as previous years. Have yourself a wonderful week Kevin. My sister and I love your videos!

Hi Kevin! Always love watching your videos. I also live in NY and there are several different crops that you can plant after harvesting carrots. If you follow the rule of "crop rotation", you will benefit by planting legumes, onions, beets and chard. Also, cucumbers, tomatoes, squash, peppers and melons will also work well. I might just plant some more carrots now after watching your carrot pesto recipe! Good luck with your planting! 😊

Wonderful to pick your own organic carrots fresh from the garden, then serve for dinner. The pesto could be mixed with noodles or maybe on a veggie sandwich. I bet that it's very healthy too. Another great meal to serve alfresco in the garden. I wonder if you might plant some pumpkins in the empty spot in the garden. You could plant different colors, orange, white, green, just for fun. What about those blue Hubbard squash? You will be set for Halloween and Thanksgiving. Thank you for sharing with us. Take care.♥️🐕🥕

Kevin, why not grow some beets? They are lovely shredded on a burger, or a salad or pickled. They are also EXTREMELY healthy; chock full of many vitamins and minerals. Apparently the Australians use beets on everthing! I'm about to plant my Baby Beet seeds on my little balcony. They are small but very delicious. I will pickle mine in apple cider vinegar. Yum! And I will keep a few to eat (raw or cooked) with my dinner. Beet greens can be chopped and added to salads (also full of vitamins). They are a 'cool' weather vegetable to grow but my balcony faces North so it gets no direct sun except early morning. So the time is right to plant them now and, with a little luck, I'll get a 2nd 'crop' which will grow during the fall. Seeing you pull those amazing carrots takes me back when my kids were little. They used to 'steal' the carrots, wipe the soil off on their clothes and eat them just like that, thinking that I wasn't watching! Ha, ha! And I'd think to myself: "Yes! Yes! 'steal' and eat ALL the carrots you want. I never let on that I knew! 😅 Anyway, dear Kevin, I sure enjoyed the video today. What you made was wonderful! We sure do love you!❤ Judy Southern Ontario 🇨🇦

I believe it is because they are a tad crowded, If I’m Not mistaken the ratio is 16 per sq foot but carrots need more space because they fight over the nutrients to grow so it best to sew them 9 per sq foot. Then you get fat fatties ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I am enjoying your videos and find them both informative and relaxing. Carrot top chimichurri is another option. Also, if you take a five-gallon bucket of water with you when you pick veggies and dip veggies as you go, the cleaning process is easier. Using this method and dipping soft squash like zucchini will minimize the grit that can become imbedded in the skins.

Another fabulous post! It is exciting to see you harvest the carrots we watched you plant! Maybe you can forgo some of your weight lifting since you did the harvesting and carrying! I'm not an expert at all but maybe some lettuce will grown quickly in the empty bed? You really do have such a neat personality "change of plan" to using the baking dish and keeping it in instead of editing it out like some uninteresting, perfectionist-ridden youtube chefs do! The cod looks divine. ps I purchased that garlic paste once when I first started watching your posts then decided to try to make my own and it is really, really easy, ,cheap and I have control and can use a healthier oil. Groceries carry packages of peeled garlic, I rinse it well, pat dry then add it to a small nutri-bullet-like blender or a food processor with some olive oil and in seconds I have a large batch. I put in a sealed glass jar and it lasts for weeks. You must use the olive oil since it is the preservative. Yummy! Best, from thankfully still rainy Colorado!

Lovely roasted carrots and pesto. You need a garden bucket to rinse produce before bringing in. Save the soil water for the garden. You might start a fall crop of some greens. Chard or kale. I've heard kale gets sweeter after a good frost. What are you going to do with all those other carrots?
