Because for independent events P(A and B) is NOT=0. But for mutually exclusive events P(A and B)=0. We have two different cases.

33:19 sir if you use r to the power of n - 1 divided by r-1 the answer ends up being - 2050

When r is positive use the formula a×(r^n-1)....when r is negative use the other formula. Using any of the two doesn't really work, it makes the answer incorrect. But for 33:19 the answer is correct. Hope this helps.
