Kev just randomly approached me in Santa Monica today and started to preach about his journey as a monk. It was beautiful and bittersweet because I grew up with Kev, not personally but virtually through his storytelling. It was challenging to not view Kev as kevjumba, the KZbinr we all once loved and appreciated. But it’s life, people go through their chapters and make life altering decisions. It was amazing chatting with him, even his monk friend had no idea about kevjumba. As fans, we tend to romanticize the careers of these individuals. Sometimes, all they want to do is move on. That’s what Kev did and is doing. And I appreciate it more than anything.

I saw him last week at a Krishna event and like you I grew up with virtually. I was also shocked. Happy for him but I was so used to see him being funny, and full of energy. Now he feels more like a zen state and a little detached. He made big change.

This is so interesting. I just met Kevin at a Hare Krishna center here in LA. I had never heard of him before but overheard him talking to a friend of mine and I couldn't help myself from interrupting their conversation to tell him if he's not a professional speaker he should be because his voice is so clean and smooth. He was genuinely touched and I ended up talking to him for like 2 hours about art, spirituality, and life. He told me he did KZbin back in the day so here I am looking him up and now I realize I just befriended a legend. Life is strange and cool. Thanks for this video it blew my mind

That's an amazing story. I was wondering why he's been inactive on Twitch lately, but now I know he's been busy with life. I wish I was lucky enough to meet him just like you got to. No problem! I'm glad I was able to teach you about Kevjumba's KZbin and acting career!

@@CulturedBro extremely down to earth and humble guy. I literally had no clue he was famous other than a few hints he threw in about his KZbin career. We connected on the difference between technically impressive art versus art that comes from truth and how it's never the technique that gives power to art but what it's expressing and how it's being expressed that gives it power. Technicality is a servant to the message and intention

All the celeb biopics show how young stars can get lost once they're adults because they never did the natural progression of growing up into an adult. Meteoric type rises usually have others handling finances and isolate them from normal socializing. God protect these celebs so they can grow into healthy humans and come to know You.

Hey, I know this video is old, but it's basically the only thing covering Kevjumba and his journey. So... What happened to him? A couple of days ago I decided to watch some old videos of Nigahiga, and found out not only Kevin's channel, but also Justin Cho's KZbin channel (and basically entire social media presence) got completely deleted. I don't know how long this was, or why, maybe you know something?
@CulturedBro Жыл бұрын
A few months later after I posted the video, he came back to KZbin by releasing some songs, then started posting videos again on his main KZbin channel. They were mainly personal diaries or philosophical videos. He also has done a few q and a live streams in the past. He privated all his videos because he's going through a spiritual journey again like he did after the car accident , and based on the last video he posted, he talked about how he lost his KZbin partnership for being inactive for too long. He couldn't get his main channel monetized again after reapplying for the partner program.

Got some early KZbin fame, became niche famous. And just as quick as the internet changes memes, stardom changes as well. Thus another few years forward, moved to twitch because engineering didn't work out
@CulturedBro2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. What's popular on the internet changes all the time. I think in Kevin's case, it's more of being away from KZbin for so long that led to his decline. His views were still pretty good when he briefly came back in 2017, but when he decided to change his content to gaming starting 2020, that's when most of his viewers lost interest because they subscribed for life advice and personality, not video game content.
@trcs30792 жыл бұрын
