It is said that Michael Bowie (R.I.P) came up with the name Bloodstone Villains. The famous SLA shoot out in 1974 took place is this neighborhood, at the time many thought that San Francisco Herald Examiner owner's grand daughter Patricia Hearst was killed in the fire.

My aunt Lily and aunt Mary lived in BSV hood on 51st between Compton blvd and Ascot right up near that liquor store right on Ascot. I remember all they big homies when I visited them. Moonshine, Dillinger, Randu, Scooby (RIP), Bambooli. They were always real cool with me. Broke my heart when Scooby got killed right on the corner of 51st. BLOODSTONE and BLACKSTONE are not connected to each other from the beginning, names are similar but they got their names in different ways, completely separate gangs

Salute Bro Kev! Great start to Season 3. This is definitely a good One. Alotta jewels about the Eastside n the BSV. From the point that there had always been Villians, to knowing that alotta BSV's parents were Business Men n Slausons. And how the SLA were part immersed with the people of the Eastside. The connection to the name BloodStone with the Stones from Chi*Town. All of this, held my attention n ways, prolly different from other People. I was always drawn to the courage of the Black Panther Party. N wen I was first learning of Blood from my Homies G n Brian. They would mention the Panthers. I remember the days in the 80's whn it was FDV'P or FDP'V. The Pueblos and Vill's were inseparable ! I hv family from both sets so being on the outside looking in, it fucked me up whn i heard that they were beefing. As a youth, i lived in the Pueblos. My Pops was a well known OG out the 'Lo's, before the 'Blood' days; 54th and Bandera. I broke my femur bone across the street from The Alba Center whn i was about 7. There's so much Black LA history that originates mostly out the Low Bottoms. This is where 'Black Hollywood' was, on S.Central Ave. We had movie theatres, jazz clubs, hotels, doctors offices, dentists, lawyers offices, etc. All Black owned !
