I graduated over 20 years ago. The interest rate was 8% and it was variable. I paid it off in 4 years. At that time I worked in corporate america, so those bonuses really helped to reduce the time. To answer Angel's question about the singular verb when using "They" or "Their", the verb tense is the same as you would use with "She" or "He". It is an exception to the usual grammatical usage.
