Gag is - Awkwafina didn't even grow up around Black people. That was misinfo that got circulated. She grew up in a white & Asian neighborhood in Queens. Also there's plenty of Asian folks (& other races) that do grow up around Black folk & do not use blaccent. Hell, Eminem ACTUALLY grew up with Black folk & he doesn't even play with that. Folks who grow up within/close to Black communities tend to have way more sense & respect around AAVE usage if they use it all.

I went to the Millennium Tour Concert in Atlanta and the crowd definitely went wild when Bow Wow came on stage. Although Omarion's statement may be correct about it being his show, Atlanta is Bow Wow's home and Atlanta definitely welcomed him home. Like y'all said, we went to the concert for nostalgia purposes. Unfortunately, it wasn't the space for new music and Omarion played a few new songs in which the crowd wasn't extremely receptive to. With all that being said, both performers were great and I would pay to see them again.

I’m BEYOND proud of where this podcast has headed and is heading. Because we as Black people should use our platforms to talk about social issues. Especially if we want to progress as a people, as a society, as a human race. It Hass to start with these conversations, and now old conversations are going to make you feel comfortable but it is REAL & purposeful to get to the goal. So thank you for doing the work

I paused to watch the video about Jesy. I must say she definitely was blackfishing. I would not have know she was white. On top of that the whole idea of her on the bike with the “bad boys” was a take from Latto’s music video titled: Latto. Not cool. Have to agree with Angel now is not a good time for Nicki Minaj to co-sign you. As much as I love Omarion, Bow Wow is DEFINITELY the bigger star.

One thing about us black folk, we value meritocracy and authenticity. If you are good at a talent or skill, we accept it and the person, regardless of race or class. That lil white girl dancing in the Missy videos ate just because she was good…. That white lady violinist from the “Overnight celebrity” video. Teena Marie is the ultimate example. That woman face was hidden from the world and let her voice take hold, and when black folk found out she was white, it was a full on scandal!!! People were shocked!!! But she stayed herself, loved her some Rick James and to this day you bet not talk bad about Ms. Teena!!!

@@mrlofi333 and it wasn’t cultural appropriation, as many ignorant Americans called it and she grew up fully working class around a lot of black people. I am directly responding to what’s said in this video have you even watched it lol

Y’all wanna be offended so bad. This person is simply explaining why her actions were NOT cultural appropriation. I don’t understand the RUDEness…oh wait, y’all wanna be mad. Guess I’ll be a sell out too, because even IF I sold out, clearly my blackness would be erased, right? It’s hard ENOUGH being black without the fake outrage. But go off tho🥴

This podcast saves me from the madness of "Florida man". 🙂❤ I knew the blackfish topic would be about Jesy Nelson. Smh. I watched her mv yesterday and had the very same thought. She was a tad too dark...😬
