I appreciated the fact Kwanzaa and Juneteenth were created and celebrated by Black AMERICAN people. They were uniquely OURS. Let me make it plain. Chinese Americans celebrate Chinese New Years. They never gave a f*ck how the rest of Americans felt about it. I would've preferred if Black people had acted and felt the same way about Kwanzaa and Juneteenth. I'll sum it up this way. @ 1:01 Kevin and Angel, I'm not criticizing your opinions of Beyonce's new song; I just disagree who you feel the target audience for it is. Break My Soul is a classic late 80's early 90's house track where the lyrics were motivational and uplifiting. These songs were played mainly in Black/Latinx Gay clubs and the LGBTQ+ Ballroom scene (think of the show Pose as a reference). I LOVE this song, as a Black woman I feel like Break My Soul is speaking directly to people from marginalized communities of color, sexuality, disabilities, etc. Beyonce has made music that targeted the white girls for sure (e.g. Single Ladies, Sweet Dreams, Run The World) But I don't think she'd have Big Freeda who is an openly gay Black male rapper from New Orleans at the beginning of the song if she was thinking white girl power anthem. Break My Soul is giving me Crystal Waters, Robin S. CeCe Peniston and Martha Walsh. You can even take it back to Gloria Gaynor's ' I Will Survive.' So I'm definitely looking forward to 'Renaissance' and Beyonce's house/disco diva era. Y'all are so funny. Love you guys.

You made me think about the docu on Netflix called "Who We Are: A Chronicle Of Racism In America". I was listening and he was talking about how they came up with the system to lessen the black vote when they gained the right to vote and we are still using that system today.
