I first bought this album in 1991 in Miami. I was playing piano with a jazz quartet on the cruise ships (Royal Caribbean), saving every penny for Berklee to study jazz piano. I've transcribed note-by-note the entire album !! Learned bunch of things, that are part of my own musical language to this day... Incredible work Kevyn !! Timeless compositions, the overall vibe, musicianship, and your heavenly vocal work (I Get A Kick Out Of You is simply breathtaking !!). At that time I was also studying Billy Child's approach (He plays piano here on this song). I never had a chance to perform these songs with anyone, although sometimes I put the album on and play along just for myself... Wish you came to Florida to perform one day.

Love her: The whole package-lyrics, voice- musicians. She is right up there with Michael Franks on my list.

This woman taught me so much, by proxy, for my short-lived career as a singer. Hope uploads to this site, here covers of "Forever Lover and Friends" (by Dori Caymi) and "Retrato em Branco e Preto" .. my two favorites that she covered

I love this song as well as your other work. This is the song that caught my ear. WRVR in NYC put this in rotation and that is where I heard it. I had the pleasure of seeing you perform live at S.O.B.'s in NYC, the show was amazing, and you're one of those artists that is even greater LIVE!.

Saludos.

No, I never met her or attended any of her concerts or performances. I would have liked to, though. But I have most of her CDs and learned from them..that's why I said "by proxy" .. I felt her spirit clearly..was clear like a bell
