I found them today, and this was the song I first heard!!! And yes, they have a similar groove and vibe. But I hear a difference. You say they have a Turkish inspired sound. I've been listening to Khruangbin for a while now.. they have more of a Thai influence. And they don't have as many vocals in their songs. But I love how YT can open up doors to new sounds.. Balthvs is now in rotation

@@toby2k75 I mentioned the BALTHVS group here. If you watched the video, they say at 22:14 that they were influenced by Turkish music. Barış Manço and Erkin Koray are very important Turkish musicians. I recommend you to listen to them. Also, their song Famagusta Port is a famous Turkish song.

You can’t really say that, though in this case. I’m not gonna say that they’re ripping them off because I don’t think that that’s exactly the case. They definitely are imitating them to a certain degree. The guitar player has the same Strat. He plays the same fender deluxe amplifier. She wears those psychedelic dresses and moves exactly the same way that Lisa does. It’s definitely a Latin version. And yes, people live in playing their hearts out forever. But when a band comes on the scene like K, and then another band shows up that looks exactly like them… obviously, you’re going to compare them. And there’s nothing wrong with that either. But that’s the way the world works. It’s not exactly original. It’s a female bass player who is really pretty and she stands in one spot and sway like that. I mean, come on. You’re not gonna compare that. OK, I’ll compare that. I’m in love with both of the bass players from both bands. But I think Johanna is cuter. So there’s that. I think k’s guitarist plays more popular sounding riffs. So there’s that. I think this drummer plays a lot more. So there’s that. I just love Music so much

Columbian non-union Khruangbin and I love it. Sometimes being good is enough, you don't have to reinvent the wheel every time. I have no idea if Balthvs are inspired by Khruangbin or are just drawing from similar wellsprings, but it sounds very sweet to me. That's a pretty good wheel that Khruangbin found, why not let others take it out for a spin?
