A friend of mine opened a show for her at a small coffeeshop in Newtown Square, PA, on the Life On Earth tour. I don't know how I managed to be in the right place at the right time for that. Still listening.

This is so beautiful. Why would anyone dislike this? What poor, miserable soul took the extra effort to click the thumbs down button? It's like crossing the street to step on a daisy--there is no reason for it. I wish I could wrap this song around me like a blanket.

Pretty much the best song of the last 5 years, perhaps longer. I'm not usually one for hyperbole, but jesus christ. Been listening since 2009 and each time it destroys me. Spare, haunting, visionary, devastating.

What a beautifully faithful rendition. It simply rips my heart out. When she sings "I'm dying for a way out" it is on par with a few very rare songs that have the ability to touch my cynical and bitter heart.

None of us know, but Jesy seems to be playing from a pretty deep place in herself. There's a part of me that twangs around in response to this beautiful song, and if its originality visits other locations, I am thankful for them, because this song is heartmending.

in standard tuning i was holding an open E chord. i played the E, D, G, B strings and it sounds right. other part involves playing the A,D, G, B strings with the same open E chord, but with pinky on the 4th fret of the A string at first and then pull off and play regular open E chord. Sounds close. From the video I am not sure what tuning she is using, but playing what i suggest will help you till someone who knows what they are doing does better!

I saw her open up for O'death, and she was quite sad and beautiful, but barely audible. I felt bad because it seemed like no one was listening, but she was great. Whoever thought it was a good idea for her to open up for O'death at a loud and rather rambunctious pub was a jackass.

Don't know if Dredg picked her since the ticket/flyer only had Dredg on it. You were able to hear the noise of the crowd over her music, people were sitting down and turning their backs to the stage. I kinda felt bad lol.
@Yumbocrigley12 жыл бұрын
whoa so Dredg must've picked her for no reason at all. wait. nope, when you're bored then you're boring.
@machelwave15 жыл бұрын
Relax. I doubt there's any real connection---It's a totally different song with a totally different mood. You should take a closer listen to Arcade Fire's songbook if you want to talk about "borrowing". The latter half of the song Wake Up is Iggy's Lust For Life and most of Neon Bible is Springsteen... (and I like Arcade Fire!). Don't try to ruin this perfect song for me. Thanks.

Had to eventually escape the socio-political retardation of the Pacific Northwest, but this artist was part of something I will always dearly miss. Gray. Quiet. A beauty that saddens and frightens and eventually invites you to lose yourself in it.
