Grimes has such a rad sound. She's inspiring like everything is so DIY and her voice IS great. It's so cute and it contrasts beautifully w her music. Try being this talented. If don't like the music or singing at least respect how she writes produces and sings her own stuff.

She's a pretty shitty singer, but her tracks sound cool as hell.
@NIMRODakaNIMROD9 жыл бұрын
+SNOWMΛN She actually has a sweet voice... that could _definitely_ use some training. However, in more recent performances, while she's still singing out of key here and there, she seems a lot more confident and does so with certain "punky" IDGAF attitude that suits her music quite well. She also goes into all-out Banshee-mode more often.
@napalmocean9 жыл бұрын
+NIMRODakaNIMROD CHeck out her other live performances, she does very well. I suspect she was just having an off day here.
@janihuusko30168 жыл бұрын
Well this in an old comment but anyways she has said that producing and making the beats is more of her thing and singing feels sometimes uncomfortable to her. But I have to say I really like that "punk" feeling in her singing here, no matter if its a bit off key. She takes risks and not trying to be perfect. :3

I'm a singer/guitarist, and never expected to be so impressed or to be so affected by a song or to be mesmerised in watching it being created in real time. I've never heard anything like this! It was as if Grimes thoughts were being heard out loud and the beats she chose with that low sound, the buttons she chose for sound input, it was all just right and blended beautifully. It was so easy to float into another realm listening to this. It was ethereal and more hypnotic than Enya's music! This girl is more than talented, she is creating feelings with colours and the vocals were placed uncannily so perfect within the realm she conjured up. Calmness, soothing and resonating, I didn't want it to stop... And I can never listen to modern music as it's usually too predictable, but this................ this was something else! She did it all 'live' and I cannot imagine the recording being as good. Her cute angelic face just topped it off with such innocence. The sounds allowed for pure escapism and I will be playing this again and again. Surely this must be Grimes best song?

I remember hearing this album and watching this performance for the first time in 2012. Really manic and confusing time of my life. Hearing this again provokes some painfully cathartic nostalgia. Selective memory just associates this sound with all the fun times, long nights with friends, or alone. The psychedelics, the feeling of actually being inspired, hopeful, angry, and passionate. Not knowing what was around the corner and that not realizing the most volatile time might have been the best time of my life. I saw her perform at Pemberton in 2014. All my buddies went to other stages. They didn't know or care for the music. They missed out. Thanks for the memories Claire :)
