Andrew’s whistle is possibly so amazing that when i first started listening to his music I actually believed it was a theremin

Saw this same lineup at High Sierra Fest 2017. One of the best performances I've seen. At one point during the set, the guitarist was playing off on a wonderful little solo part, and he began to just get lost in the music. Andrew had to finally step out into his view and remind him that they eventually had to end the song. Seeing that musician literally get lost in the music and drift off into another world, forgetting where he was was one of the coolest things I've ever seen live, and what makes me stay so in love with live music.

Cheryl's interest and knowledge of the great musician she's interviewing have impressed me since the first time I've watched this. What a gift of a video, what a beautiful moment of life this recording symbolises to me.

Thank you KEXP, I knew Andrew Bird would soon be back. The only way Andrew sounds better is when Kevin Suggs mixes it. This sounds fantastic!!! Everything sounds so crystal clear and the niche sounds Andrew uses sound so well balanced with this mix nothing gets buried!!! You guys gotta a handle on this and its fantastic!!!
@mountainhobbit19718 жыл бұрын
if you enjoyed this you should check out his NPR Tiny Desk Concert he just recently did, it is really amazing, all acoustic…I thought the bass was a bit too loud throughout this KEXP mix and that I could not hear the bass guitarist's or drummer's voice well enough honestly.
@urgamecshk8 жыл бұрын
yea, i like the NPR version better. The violin tone in this one makes it sound out of tune with everyone else and nasally.

I've played classical violin for 25 years and Andrew Bird makes me reconsider everything I ever thought was possible on violin. Love it. Capsized reminds so much of something else but I can't place it.

+Tai Taitano When you start gaining fame, you're told what to do. This album screams that. Back in Feb during his "unofficial" release in dtla, he made a comment around the lines of, "they made me rewrite the song", speaking in regards to forgetting the intro to one of the songs. This dude is too talented to be told what to do. Weather Systems ('03) was the album that captured me. Just look at his track record since... then you'll get why I'm jazzing things up.
@BlissDelight698 жыл бұрын
Well my last comment (sleep deprived and cranky) Your opinion is valid, so I apologize for the negativity. I agree with you, that album is amazing (Sovay is one of my favorite songs). But I'm a huge fan of all of his albums. They're all really different. But I honestly don't think his record label is telling him what to do. Loma Vista has a roster of artists that are constantly changing it up. Andrew also has one of the most outrageously "out" drummers right now. I think Andrew wanted to make an accessible album, but that's just me.
