I saw Nilufer open for Sharon Van Etten last February at The Neptune in Seattle and was blown away. The talent displayed by her and the band was impressive and I loved the genre busting music. I will not forget Jazzi Bobbi’s leopard print pants and hot pink fuzzy bedroom slippers. Haute couture! I wasn’t able to make the headliner at The Tractor but will keep my eyes open for future headliners. Love the album! Also, always nice to see Abbie, one of my favorite KEXP DJs, hosting an in-studio!

I love Nilufer's music! She really is one of a kind! Fantastic performance! Great instrumentalists in the band! The interview was much helpful in understanding the songs and the lyrics. I've been fascinated by Nilufar's music since I randomly heard it on the tube about a month ago. Reading through the lyrics, I immediately related to the story they told. It seems that she really is letting go and allowing her soul to navigate her through space and time... Such deepness when she said she's essentially writing the same song over and over! I know what she meant. It doesn't mean that they all sound the same nor that they are the same at all. They are a continuum, and they all organically relate because they were written through time, one after the other. Nothing's similar to Nilufer's music. BRAVO!

Heard her music for the very first time on KUTX college radio. Blew my mind! She's an artist that has developed her own unique sound which is what every artist aspires to accomplish. Now when you hear anything she plays, you know it's her. I'm glad there are still talented and original artists playing original music out in the world!

KEXP, please take the time to understand how to pronounce a person's name before intros. It was painful to hear Nilüfer 's name pronounced incorrectly. It hits deep for me when I heard my mom's name mispronounced my whole life and my last name also mispronounced. Turkish names can be challenging at first but please take some time and practice. It matters a ton and it immensely appreciated when you take the time to learn it.

@youtubeseagull2 жыл бұрын
wha? nahhh... she just is in the same ball park as the chilll energy of the older host who may or may not need a successor. So i think you're gonna have to be happy with this high quality gal, nothing terrible, in such a young woman with that same quality "satisfied" energy with the art making space , maybe a heady artist type, art school. Has some wisdom and smarts for a young person. Not easy to find. YOU try doing that job. OH also the host set up a reallly good question that got a surprisingly good funny answer near the end. I think it was her perspective on aspiration for the next 10 years, and the host was almost but not quite overstepping when she put words in Nilufer's mouth, but actually she was undeniably on the same wave length or able to relate to Nilufer and very receptive to many possible answers.
