I've been wanting this forever because i often film outside in a very windy area (I live on the shore of the St-Laurent River in Québec. It,s a valley and the wind just tunnels in it). Thank you for demonstrating it so i know what to expect, because it is an investment 👍

Yeah, having a clip on mic with a small windmuff attach does wonders. The proximity of it close to your body makes a world of difference even compared to boom mics.

Oh, the safety level is going to be AWESOME for me because i spend a lot of my editing time adjusting the volume level. For example, there is always a volume level difference when you switch between front an dback camera on the phone. The back camera (where you see yourself in the screen) records the sound louder because it is closer. Makes sense. AND i have a co-host who is a koala and when he speaks, his voice is always louder 😆 (you'll have to watch one of myvideos to see what i mean LOL. He has a PARTICULAR VOICE) 🐨🌸 Your channel is super informative, keep going!! You'll reach 2K soon!! (I hope i do too!) 👍

Thanks! And yeah the safety channel is an amazing lifesaver especially for those clips where the audio is through the roof, super underrated feature!

Hi Sir, Nice review. Planning to buy this microphone. Just a quick question, if I'll buy the single set now and maybe in the future I'll be needing another transmitter, can I just buy a transmitter alone from Rode?
@Jameses2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes you can but I don't think they sell the mic just by itself. So if u think u want to safeguard for future shoots you should go for the double mics.

Awesome vid, really well explained. I am a home video vlogger, nothing too fancy and currently have a Tascam DR10. My issue with that is the setting up - fiddle with the long wire, turn it on then start recording - not very quick in my experience. How is the audio quality when using the GO 2 as a standalone? I read somewhere that (weirdly) the audio is slightly worse than if you were using a receiver, is that true? Unfortunately the gimbal I have doesnt make it easy for me to hook in the receiver with the Go 2, so if I had to use as a standalone, would that be pretty sufficient keeping in mind I just do home videos/vlogs for myself?

Thanks! In my experience i do not notice any difference if it was a stand alone, i mean why should it haha. There are times which i needed to get it from the mic itself which i could not notice anything odd at all.

@@Jameses That's great to hear and thank you for the reply! If I bought a transmitter only, would Rode Central recognise it or does it only recognise receivers to be able to change settings to 'Always' for record?
@Jameses Жыл бұрын
I will not recommend for you to do that as the channels are already preset in, the device is made in such a way that it is a plug and play/ Pre-programmed in that way. What u see in my tutorial is what settings there is, so i don't know the exact steps to do pair additional sets at the moment.
