The black, plastic pieces used for holding the battery in place have been pushed down and are blocking the receptor!! 🎉🥳🥳🥳 You just saved me so much money, time, and heartache.

Man this work for my 2001 ford mustang. I replaced the battery and the key fob did not want to work. So I lifted the 2 metal things that contact the battery and it worked. Thank you.

Fixed my FOB. I wonder if the battery needed replacement in the first place. It started fading and being unreliable. This fixed it right away. It was a Mazda FOB but worked the same way.

Thanks 👍. It worked for me. Car dealer was asking $150 for new one, without doing due diligence. They had even put 8-9 times costly battery in the fob. I said I will get a Duracell or a Panasonic for 1/8 of the price. Thanks again. People such as you keep up such communities by sharing their experiences.

I have watched this so many times and can’t figure out what you mean. In toughly the area you indicate, I see ON TOP there are two plastic tabs, that naturally hold the battery in place-battery placed beneath the tabs. Don’t see any tabs underneath anything. Maybe if you has some light and a stationary camera, I could make out what the heck you are talking about. Are there underneath tabs that I don’t have? You mean those tiny little black barely sticking out knobs underneath the metal curved structure? I see zero way to get under them to pull them up without scraping into the green motherboard(?). Baffled by what y’all are seeing that is so helpful.

To start a Honda with a dead key fob, just slide the tab over on the backside of the fob to access the physical key. Once you're inside the car, you can start it by putting your foot on the brake and simultaneously holding the fob right next to the START/STOP button. Then, press the button twice to start your car

Worked on my 2013 Accord Sport key fob that wasn’t working. The fob is a different type but I still took your principle and bent the metal battery holder more inward so that it would “hug” the battery more. And then Voila!!!
