so this video helped fix my key. my unlock and open trunk buttons were the only ones lighting up and they would lock the car. I did the programming like others have showed and it just wouldnt work, repeated it about 4 times. then i went back into the house to keep searching for more tutorials. i mashed the lock button and the little light started responding. went back outside and all was working as intended. lock locked the car, unlock unlocked and so on. thanks, the fix was to do the programming and get far away from the car(out of range) and then come back.

Thank You so much! I went to the dealership they almost destroy the key replacing the battery and nobody knew how to program! The manager suggested me to eearch for a tutorial and he was RIGHT! You are the man! I programmed the key with your instructions and VOILA🎉 it works perfect! Thanks again!

Great video, THANKS FOR POSTING! These steps fixed our ‘14 Accord LX when the remote key quit working after the key battery died. Replaced the battery, used your programming steps and the remote key works perfectly again.

I have a 2017 honda Accord. This worked for me. I first changed the battery and that didn't work. I turned the key until the motor started. Kept pressing the lock button until it turned red, and it turned off the ignition once the light turned off. Did this 3 times, and then it still wasn't working. While sitting in the car, I just kept pressing the lock button, and then the doors locked. Pressed the unlock, doors unlocked. Pressed the button to open the trunk, and it did. I never got far away from the car. Idk maybe need a few moments to reset. Either way, thanks, it worked.

@cristofermorales1052 These are the instructions I talked about in the video. They did not work exactly as stated, so I made the video to show what I did. Enter your Honda, shut all doors, and have your key and fobs to be programmed ready. Insert the key and turn to the “On” position. On the fob, press and hold the “LOCK” button for one second. Release the button and turn the key to the “Off” position. Repeat this process twice more. Turn the key to the “On” position and hold the “LOCK” button on the key fob for one second. Wait for the doors to lock and unlock automatically. Once the locks have cycled, your vehicle is in remote programming mode. Hold the “LOCK” button for one second. Your Honda key fob will be programmed once the locks cycle again. Repeat the process with any additional fobs that need programming. Exit remote programming mode by turning the key to the “Off” position in the ignition.

I had the red light stay on, lock button would unlock, trunk and unlock didnt do anything. opened the battery up removed the circuit board and sprayed wd40 between the buttons. took a few tries amd it worked. Just had to short the circuit board with tweezers.

My red light stays on too! The weird thing is when I hit the lock button now it unlocks my car. Still can’t get the fob to work properly.

Mine did that too numerous times. Idk if it was the moving out of the proximity of the car after redoing it that fixed it or what, but someone else in the comments had the same thing & said moving away from the car after doing the steps again fixed it.
