I just started sewing. And I found your channel, and I gotta say. You're a breath of fresh air. Everyone on social media shows a "how to" in like 15 seconds and that doesn't work with no experience. You explain things amazing and slow so I can follow all the steps and make amazing stuff. Thank you 😙

Yes, the smell is something that reminds me of a horse after a race....once upon a time I was a Standardbred racehorse groom. Every time I use the mat I take a trip down memory lane usually in a flash. My horses were Airborne Mary, Trebol Pam, and Irish Champ...that was a lone time ago...

Hi Stacey! Nicely done! BTW: I don't mind the smell of the wool mat, as long as it does not impart the smell to my fabric which is does not. I know people who iron a dryer sheet over it every once in a while. That method also cleans the bottom of the iron. Two tasks done at one time!

You’ll be happy to know that mine doesn’t smell like anything anymore. I have two. Bought at the same time several years ago. Aired them outside during the day for several days when I got them… it faded significantly… and I just stitched a loop on one end and hung them when not in use to get as much airing as possible… that only lasted until we moved… but by then we were scent free. Hope this helps give other the confidence to purchase if they want it.

Love the videos. Can Heat Bond be used for this what’s the difference interfacing and heat bond?
@staceyleecreativeАй бұрын
Thank you, Rosa! 😊 No, I wouldn't use HeatnBond , because it is an adhesive product that fuses fabric layers together, while interfacing is typically used to add structure or stiffness to fabric. ❤️✂️

It would be far easier to leave it 4" wide and just crease it in half, then bring the outsides to the center line. Still 1" wide when done without having to fight with the little 1/2" edges.
