@@Izz4cc, CG Geek seems to be more of a content creator than a tutor. The 10 minute rigging tutorial that he did was really difficult to follow, and I ended up with a rig that didn't work. Hey Imphenzia! I know you have tutorials that show how to different aspects of game making, but it would be really helpful to go on with this exact model. Put him in Unity, show people how to make: 1. Idle 2. Walking 3. Running etc. with textures, controls etc. A complete workflow tutorial like this would go nuts, I promise! Cheers mate!

Just in case anyone is confused at 3:00 when he clicks on that lower bar that normally is not there for auto keying, that bar is a horizontal screen split and set to timeline. It’s just dragged to the bottom of the screen.
@eagleman88823 жыл бұрын
Where do you find it to drag it to the bottom?
@CozmiGames Жыл бұрын
This was SO frustrating for me. I originally had the bar at the bottom with the playback controls (buttons for recording, skip forward, etc) but in messing around it disappeared. Then I could ONLY find that playback controls bar again by changing the "editor type dropdown" to "timeline" but then the "action editor" was gone. I spent a huge amount of time on Google, KZbin and just messing with things and could never get that playback bar on the bottom again in the Action Editor like in the video. However using the comment by @wesdl8593 above, I changed to the timeline, made it a split screen, moved down to the bottom, switched back to Action Editor and NOW I finally have the playback controls on a bottom "bar" so to speak. But its actually a timeline window just squeezed down to the bottom. I can't believe nobody else in the whole world seems to have this issue. Ok 2 hours later and now I can resume with the tutorial video. What a nightmare!!

Me before watching this video - Rigging is hard Me after watching this video - Rigging is easier and way more fun. As someone who wants to get into game dev and/or animation, your videos are incredible. I like to put your 10 minute videos on and try to absorb as much as possible, which generally leads to me watching them for about an hour each. Great stuff again - one thing I'd like to have known about which wasn't eluded to was the differing animation frame lengths across the different pose animations. For example the Idle was 40 and the run was 22 - but there didn't seem to be a specific set count for each... so if i went back and viewed the Idle, it was still set to the 22 (run) frame count length.

I think you can do run animation much faster if you animate it pose to pose, as in put main keyframes in intervals, then work your way down from there, it's also much cleaner and you have a point of reference for inbetween the animations
@Imphenzia3 жыл бұрын
Hi, I've preferred to do them with the 4 key poses to get the "proper" motion between the keyframes - do you have a video in mind that shows the alternative approach?

Thanks, this is good... but I've seen you do this before. I CHALLENGE YOU! I am not a Unity developer, but I watch your tutorials to learn Blender. What is missing for me is how to use the Actions I've created in the Action Editor to make a small animation. For example, how do you take an idle action, and a walk action, and a run action, and create an animation where the (police) character stands, then walks down the street around a street corner, then runs after another character (like a bad guy).
@juliaalder20074 жыл бұрын
I think you have to do this in Unity in the Animator.
@dreamburn14 жыл бұрын
@@juliaalder2007 No, you just use Blenders NLA (Non-linear-animation) Editor, but there are NO good tutorials on how to do it. This one shows how it's done, but it goes too fast and is a complete blur: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o5fHppmels5-qqs

@@juliaalder2007 Blender is truly an amazing one-stop place for creating complete animated or special-effect rich movies. I know Imphenzia is a game designer, but he also puts out very clear modeling, rigging, and animation tutorials for Blender-and the one thing missing is taking the good info one more step and putting the animation actions together to create a little complete clip. All the assets he has created are perfect for creating a little street-corner scene with low poly animated characters interacting, and I challenge him to bring it all together in Blender and finally give us people trying to learn Blender a good easy-to-follow tutorial that would allow us to make a simple short film.

I love this series. I've come a long way due to this tutorial, but something I'm having a lot of trouble with is dealing with animations with other objects. For example, I have a character who has some tools but they only appear for some animations and not others. Dealing with that in the action editor / NLA panel has been really messy probably because I'm doing it wrong. Would love to see some content on that!
