Alex is a master at speedruns, but also a master of teaching us along the way

So so instructive, thank you Alex! I'm going to give the Jabova a try in my 900-1000 games and see what happens!!!

Switch from the London to the Jobava and also bought the Caro course. Still suck but not nearly as much lol. Ty 👏🏻👍🏻💯

That setup with the white knight on e5 reinforced by two pawns that you said is/is not like a stonewall is called a “Pillsbury Knight” after Harry Nelson Pillsbury, who pioneered that technique.

Your videos do help us improve our games. But how do we make our foundation strong? In the middle game we sometimes do get lost.. specially when the opponent makes a different move from what we know.
@NotPabu2 жыл бұрын
The middle game is all about making plans, its not just about what the best move is. You decide on a plan and even if the opponent plays a move you didnt expect you look for either what that oppenents plan is so you can prevent it, or find a way to continue your plan based off the move they played. If the move they played stops your plan you either have to create or new plan, or find a different way to make your plan succeed. You cant think of the middle game like opening theory.

@@NotPabu that will definitely make me think ahead during my next game.

is there any advantage to playing Bf4 on move 2 so that you can pick between london or Jobava?

i was wondering, why doesnt the oponent on minute 18:10 after you castled, take the e5 square with his knight, and what would be your answer to that? seems like an annoying place for white
@AlexBanzea2 жыл бұрын
I guess you meant the e4-square. I guess I would have played cxd5 followed by Rfc1 (or Rfc1 directly) and try to play around that knight!
