Yes we did miss odegaard, dont be daft!! Yes we've had decisions go against us but we were not playing anywhere near the level we can in his absence. The difference in our football with and without him is startling. I've said it many many teams and ill say it again, barring rodri, he is the BEST and MOST IMPORTANT player in the league. He is world class, walks in any team any day of the week, and he is genuinely elite in all 3 phases. No one like him, he is special. So don't say we haven't missed him, we certainly have, he's created more chances in the last 2 games than we did in the 4 games prior 🤣🤣

Rodri’s absence is inadvertently demonstrating exactly why he won the Balon D’Or. But not only are City getting torn apart in transition with Rodri out but their attacking patterns of play have become far too predictable. The likes of Silva, Grealish, Savinho, and Walker offer no width and nearly always predictably cut the ball back recycling possession and virtually never provide first time service to Haaland. Doku’s injury absence has taken away City’s only real 1v1 winger who creates width and stretches back lines by getting to the end line. And De Bruyne’s injury absence has taken away the only City player who is actually willing to play high risk aggressive passes that not only feed Haaland first time service but once against stretches opposition back lines.

Peps gotten used to rely on one player exactly like he did with Messi as for savinho apart from vinicius and Bellingham I'm sure he had highest goals and assists in la liga there's plenty of attacking players there with creativity and midfielders before grealish got used to the bench he offered loads of width and creativity or is a 100 million pound player just good for one season?

It’s not just Jota but Alisson uswell, both are key first team players. Alisson is probably the best keeper in the world, Kellleher done great but he’s not in that category yet.

@fazz95 The key phrase is "when fit." Over just the past year alone, he’s missed 19 of Liverpool’s 38 Premier League matches through injury. And the season prior he missed 16 Premier League matches through injury. And that does not include all the domestic and European cup competition matches he’s missed through injury. Jota is no doubt talented but he’s hardly fit and available for any extended period of time.

Because he can’t stay fit. Even going back to his first season with Liverpool back in 20/21 he missed 17 of 38 Premier League matches through injury. It’s also why he hasn’t replaced Ronaldo with Portugal. Because despite Ronaldo’s age, he’s always fit.
