More great inspiration ! During the shrimping part I was thinking back to Aron and your last shrimping trip where you figured out to scoop from under the shrimp slowly. I bet that would stuffing and sauce would work with tamales also. Just add some jalapeños to the stuffing to replace the plabanos. Or just add plabanos. The sweet corn and shrimp flavor would be good with a little heat.

Heck ya no ditch fish. There is so much sewer and fertilizer run off those fish glow in the dark. Haha. You should look up how to make shrimp patties out of sand and fish meal and bait an area for shrimp in the afternoon then go dip net them off the patties when it gets dark.

We set poles, bait and cast net in SC lowcountry, however, I think the predominant species are white and brown shrimp. Also, this only takes place during certain times of the year. Shrimp baiting in SC requires a baiting permit so please check your regulations. I’ve heard that pink shrimp love to hide in the sand so good luck getting them to come out and awesome job spotting these beauties. Congrats 🎉

So true…we do the same thing in the fall here in South Mississippi. Throw out some rabbit pellets and throw a brill net…usually August, September, October and November. Big White Shrimp (16-20 count) usually 5-8 per throw.

Wow… Really smh at spending 2 hours catching 2 dozen shrimp! I know each micro climate has its pros and cons farso. The time it takes you to throw your cast net here on the Mississippi coast is the time it takes to catch a dozen to 4 dozen big white shrimp this time of year!!! ( also can fill your ice chest with blue crabs out at the islands just using a dip net!)… The recipe looks awesome and will definitely have to make it only using more shrimp in my stuffing in my huge home grown poblano peppers!!!
