DISCLAIMERS After testing with more switches, I can conclude that Iskar sounds noticeably hollow without case foam. I now recommend using at least thin case foam when building. PCB is south facing. Ignore old renders. My replacement rim is Black PVD. It shows up in the latter half of the video. No daughterboard. Centered USB port. No more brass plate, due to the...opposite of popular demand.

i like how concise everything was and how you explained things :D one minor thing is that the outro felt rushed when speaking so taking time to enunciate on that end may be a good cherry on top.

Nicely shot review of the board! The only thing that kept throwing me off were the speckle effects around 1:41 and 9:23. I found it a bit difficult to stay focused through these scenes and felt a bit disoriented from them. Hopefully I'm the anomaly here. Overall, really enjoyed the video!

Do you think it would be better if I made it smaller / less visible perhaps? I feel that the graphic areas look boring without some sort of texture

@@nearLucid Another option is to make a subtle moving pattern background, behind the image
@shiolei2 жыл бұрын
@@nearLucid I agree with @Mint, a subtle but constant moving pattern might be a better fit. It was the act of the speckles disappearing and reappearing that felt off to me, as my eyes were distracted each time they reappeared at different spots. Definitely understood you're trying to differentiate those shots for a more unique vibe. Though, maybe other viewers aren't as distracted by them so a change might not be needed. More data needed!

Wont the rubber feet's glue lessen everytime you need to disassemble the board? this seems like a sketchy design decision...

Such a nice board but I wish it would have had brass/copper rim and weight options. Could have made it so much more interesting with patinas.

Hey, This is a really well shot video but I think you committed a cardinal sin of making a video 21:9 and that's rendering the video with black bars, this results in a black bars on every side when actually viewing in 21:9 and will have compression artifacts (which is entirely undesirable) in the black bars themselves. A fix is to crop the video and upload in a resolution that's 21:9 (5120x2160) and KZbin will automatically add black bars or scale the view window.
@nearLucid2 жыл бұрын
KZbin considers real 21:9 an "atypical resolution" and will not allow me to put end cards.
@haloshiroe2 жыл бұрын
@@nearLucid ah, I see probably because they don't have dynamic scaling on the end cards, that's just strange. My apologies for just assuming stuff.

@@atos94 it absolutely is. The stuff I've seen people call "hollow" is sometimes hilarious. It's also not an inherently negative quality.

@@nickthaskater every stream of Iskar so far has pointed out that its hollow without foam, even the design team acknowledged this so in this case its not subjective, I agree though that people over exaggerate the term "hollowness" just like with "ping" way too frequently

@@nickthaskater Just curious, which boards do you think are hollow but good sounding? I'm very fond of spacious and roomy sounding boards like the TGR Jane or the Ahgase but I despise boards that have ringy resonance (which I would describe as hollowness).
