This is a very useful video......I started learning western piano 6 months ago by watching videos online, I wanted to learn carnatic too, but did'nt know how to get Gamakas & all, i know about Pitch bender, but didn't know anything about Portamento, Legato setting, I searched in my Casio CTX keyboard manual pdf, typed the words.....I think my keyboard has these Portamento & Velocity settings, could'nt find the word Legato, but i'm gonna read the manual & figure it out.......thanks for this demo....... by the way, can you tell me which "Tone" you use generally for Carnatic on your keyboard, it doesn't seem like Violin, Is it E.Piano or which one ??

Ofcourse regarding building technique, I'm practicing Scales & Arpeggios & some other exercises, but I just wanted to know how to get started playing Carnatic...?

@@manohardixit5866 yup the ideal way of doing is that. Bt the fingering techniques matter.. random stuff wont take yhe learner far .. In my music school.. we have proper methodology we initiate the learners .. from day 1 .. thats wat i have tried and tested through my journey 😀

pls note midi keyboards are just facilitator to use the software in a computer. portamento is a inbuilt option in any professional keyboards like Yamaha, Roland and Korg.

i use korg micro x, korg microstation, korg TR 64, Korg X50 and all these models have this facility being synthesizer / workstation. I am sure the high end models of Casio, Yamaha and Roland also has this. The advanced version of playing Carnatic probably is ROLI Seaboard. As far as arrangers please check with Korg as i have not much exposure on this.
