Hey bro, appreciate the video. New to modding keyboards, question, are most 96% keycap sets compatible with the v5?

I can't say most or least, you will have to check for the shorter right shift, the 1u zero, and a R1 Delete. If the keycap set has 140+ keys, then it's most likely to have the right keys, but you'll have to check each one to be sure.

I'm trying to decide between the Keychron V5, K4 pro, and monsgeek M2. I would love your thoughts on these and which one you think would be the best choice, in your opinion.

I'm not a fan of Keychron Pro series and have yet to take a look at the Monsgeek M2. The V5 makes it into my daily driver slot quite often, it's a great value for the price.

Just bought this keyboard because of this video and I was wondering something about the keyboard. Are you able to fit the enter and plus switches into the pcb all the way? When I try to fit them in I don't hear a click and it's easy to remove them just by wiggling the switch.

I've had no issue with any key switch in this keyboard. Are you sure that your switches are fully closed and you are inserting them in the right orientation?

I`m looking to get one compact with a knob. But I noticed they have V5 and Q5. Have you compared them both? Would love to know if they have any significant differences to take for the note.

There are significant differences between the two the V5 is the value version of the Q5, the Q5 is gasket mount the V5 is tray mount, the Q5 is fully aluminum case the V5 is a plastic case.

Good day sir! Love your video. I bought my own Keychron V5 and as I was placing my switches, I noticed that I couldnt my keycap on the switches in the numpad (Enter and +) key (the ones with stabilizers on the right. My switches are Akko Jelly Blacks and when I also place them in their place, it wobbles when I push it unlike other places. The only difference between these keys with stabs with the others are that the stabs in (Numpad Enter and +) are mounted sideways. Any suggestions on what to do?

Thanks for watching, and to be honest, I'm not quite sure what your issue is. Are your keys fully depressed onto the switch and stabilizer stems?

@@MechKeyboards yes, the main issue is that I cant place the Enter and + keycap on the numpad. I dont understand why but it probably has something to do with having the stabs in a different orientation

@@gregoryblanco4121 The stabs being orientated different does not make them work differently. I have no issues and am currently using My V5 w/o issue. Perhaps head over to r/Budgetkeebs on Reddit and ask your question in the weekly thread where pictures and more can be shared.

This is a really attractive option with a great value for price proposition (especially for an 1800). There's a translucent case version as well, which is an interesting way to go for RGB if you prefer taller keycap profiles that don't allow for passthrough.

The K4 is a 96% the V5 is an 1800 with QMK/VIA.

@@trippleaj 1800 keyboards usually have a slightly different layout, including a different-sized right shift key. 1800 is exploded, 96% is compact.
