Ben Alexander - or maybe it’s each individual putting up a wool over the people’s eyes just so mysterio can get money and fame and payoff the 4 super villains in helping mysterio look good till Spider-Man ruins his plans by stopping the villains HE paid for to come around the corner for him to do his illusions of being the savior but it all crash and burns as he now turns his attention to Spider-Man for ruining his chances again of fame where mysterio is now the villain instead of a con-artist.

Yeah, it could be that they are making him slightly different for the movies. The MCU (movies) is actually a different universe that exists alongside the other Marvel Comic book characters/stories. I wish these videos explained that more, but they don't touch on that aspect of things, probably because they aren't even aware. The KZbin channel "Comics Explained" is better at laying out the different universes/continuities, including ret-cons and reboots.

Just because hes straight up tech in the comics doesnt mean he might be somewhat magical in the MCU. I already heard a rumor hes going be a reject from one of the Sanctums like Jonothan Panborn in the first Doctor Strange film. Wouldnt be surprising if hes using his limited training in the Mystic Arts to make his tech based illusions more powerful and maybe even physical.

While I liked the Old Man Logan storyline I didn't like the fact that they used Mysterio instead of another X-foe to trick Logan. Better choices would've been: Mastermind, Mesmero, Lady Mastermind, or Shadow King. Or Daken's pheromone powers should've evolved/got enhanced in the future to the point where it'd trick Logan into killing the X-men. Him hunting down & killing his own son would've made the story even better.

So In the comics, Mysterio overpowers spidey's sense but in the MCU, It's the opposite. But certainly, Mysterio is more powerful in the movie. I mean he literally has access to all of Tony Stark's protocols. What if there was a protocol to destroy earth?

I can guess the plot of the movie. Spidy goes to Europe, encounters strange elemental monsters, the sand water and fire guys. During those fights he finds mysterio trying to save the day, be the hero. But in truth mysterio caused the monsters to happen (either they grant him real magic or they monsters are special effects. But spidy being a real hero steals the spotlight
