Keyless Entry For VW POLO

For others to know. I got a polo 9n. And it didnt work with a 180ohm, open and directly on the close. I actually had to use the 180ohm, as in the video. But had to connect the close signal, with a 680ohm to the brown /green, that goes to the lock/unlock button in the car door. Then it worked for me.

I have ordered the 680 ohms resistor waiting for it to come I hope it works, can I ask how did u figure this out? Did you find this on a forum or website do you have a link ?

@@sunilbfd5268 I sepnt many days with a car half finished, trying af testing. Reading comments searching videos. Then I by accident saw a small back dot on the lock/unlock button in the car, where i took a volt meter, at tested it. Because it looked like a small resistor. :D And With small knowledge there was 3 wires to the button, I could always open an close on that. I knew there had to be a way. I finally i found the right combo.

So I got it all setup now and it works fine. The only problem I have with your method is that when locking through the door switch instead of the latch (blue and white). The fuel door does not lock with the button. So I’m trying to find out the correct resistor to lock from the blue/white wire. It’s just weird as every other guide says to connect it directly without any resistor. I have now ordered a 1k ohm resistor to see if that will be able to lock the car from the blue/white wire. (But this is just a wild guess)

Thank you for this detailed video, it made it very easy for me to prep the remote control unit and take off the door panel. Sadly as mine does not have electric windows or electric mirrors there is no 12v connection inside the door, so I have to find the wire on its way to the central lock controller under the dashboard.

Hi,great video, thanks alot.I have 2007 polo too and wanted to install it since ages.Some questions though,does pressing lock button longer shuts the front open windows,(they are powered windows)? And does indicators blink while locking/unlcking?

Hi, I checked and in my case holding down on the unlock doesn't open or close the front windows automatically. I didn't connect the wires so that the indicators would flash when locking even tho it does have that function. Cheers.

Have the same unit installed on a Skoda Fabia mk 2. Lately the passenger front door stopped working, after a period when random functioned. I don't hear any sound there when I use the remote. I checked the connections in the pillar, didn't see anything wrong there. Is it the door lock the culprit?

Hi, from what I can tell there is a relay in the unit so when you use the remote you should hear the relay click in the black box. Maybe the unit itself is faulty. If you have a multimeter and haven't done so already, check that your getting 12v, and the earth too. Hope that helps.

Unfortunately I didn't connect it, I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work. But as i still need to physically pull on the handle to open the boot I didn't see the point if the car is already unlocked. If you do manage to connect it let us know. Cheers

Hi, i found the kit on amazon, i just searched universal Car Keyless Entry System and there are plenty of different sellers selling the same thing looking at their pictures. Hope that helps.

Do you really need to mess around removing door cards? This wires must feed through under the dash.

I'm sure you can trace the wires to the fuse panel, and connect to them at any point. I used the door panel for ease. I would also take into account the location of the antena to get a good signal.

Hi, your polo is probably a 6N model which means that the wiring is slightly different, thers a link in the description to the wiring diagarm, but i pulled this off the forum that i used: White to white/green (CLOSE SIGNAL) White/black to white/yellow (OPEN SIGNAL) No need for the inline resistor.

@@halfinishedprojects its a polo 9n - i have connected one of the White wires to the blue/White, and it will let me open. But if i connect both White and White/Black as pr your guide. It opens on both buttons
